Back again

Well tonight was great.....I finally got back to the gym, and it was extremely great. I lifted weights tonight and then did a little cardio. I will probably be sore tomorrow from lifting after missing for so long, but that just means its working.

I do however have a new workout buddy. One of my best girls is going to start working out with me and my "workout buddy" who by the way did absolutely nothing NOTHING tonight. My new workout buddy is about to be 50 years old and is ready to get in shape. We went over how all the machines work, and tomorrow we are working just cardio. I think she will do well.

We have started a new contest at the Patrick. This is just a weigh in thing, no meetings in classes, just weigh ins. We weigh in on Thursdays and not Monday this time, Yeah. Both my workout buddies have signed up too. One of my buddies is in the same wedding that I am singing in in 2 months and the other has to attend. We are going to look good, real good.

So the last post I said 4 days but that is not quite true, now we weigh on Thursday so 3 days....

I'm BAAAAAck

Hey all,

I want to start this post, without an apology. I have had a crazy week, like crazy beyond crazy, and if any of you had experienced this week you would understand. I have had another week without a good real workout but I have eaten really well for the most part. I started this week with a small health scare. My mom was sick all weekend with a stomach bug and they put her in the hospital on Monday for fluids, then something happened and they transferred her to Huntsville Hospital. We stayed there for two days, she came home on Wednesday. Well, Wednesday night we stayed up all night, and yes I mean all night, not one minute of sleep getting ready for a Yard Sale that we had planned for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. So the rest of the week I have spent at the yard sale, and trying to catch up on sleep. So anyway, I have not weighed in forever, I don't even have an idea of my weight. When I finally weigh I will let you all know.

So again, I'm not sorry for not posting but I should be able to get some in this week.

Tomorrow

Well I am going to weigh in the morning, I'm not really excited about it cause I have not worked out at all this week. My eating has been ok but just ok. I was worried I was back sliding and maybe I was just a little, but guess what, NEW GOAL.

I have been asked to sing at a friends wedding. I have agreed to this so I figure I can talk about it publicly. So now instead of attending the wedding 30 lbs. lighter I figure I need to sing at it 40 lbs. lighter. Its a better goal cause it will give me more drive to hit my goal. So wish me luck.

Last Day

WOW! I'm really sorry I have not posted in so long. I have had a crazy week at work and really forgot that I even had a blog in cyber space. I will let you all know that I have not had a good week working out but I have made good choices on my diet. We had an open house this week and I ate mostly fruit so that I didn't have to indulge in the BBQ and beans that were not so good for me. I was satisfied with my fruit and baked potato. I have not worked out at all since Sunday. But I will be taking my big BUTT up to the gym tonight and I will probably be sore tomorrow because it seems like I have not worked out in forever. I know getting busy does not give you the right to not workout but well, stuff happens. I will do better, promise.

Good Good Good Good Good

Well guys I had a really good week this last week. I lost everything that I gained in the week after the biggest loser and then 2 more pounds. I can update the clicker this week. So 2 more pounds to ad to the total. I was really excited that the one bad week didnt really hurt me for 3 or 4 weeks, but its gone now and I dont want to see it again.

36 lbs. to date.

Wow Long Day

Hey guys, I told y'all yesterday that I didn't think I would get a chance to blog today....well here I am at 10 o'clock. I had a horribly long, but great, day. I had a closing this morning, all went good. Then I went to get my hair done. Looks good. Then I came back to work at about 5:30pm and did work for about an hour and a half....at this time was the first time I turned my computer on at work. Then I went to Trivia night at the local coffee shop in town. It was the first time I have attended the game and had a great time. My team one the first game and then had a sad 4th place finish in the second game. But I did drink about 10 cups of coffee so I am typing fast.

I didn't get the chance to workout...I did have my clothes with me so maybe I burned a couple of calories carrying my bag around. haha. I will get to workout tomorrow and then go shopping. Yeah.

When I get to weigh tomorrow I will let you know how it went.

Multiple Issues, One Post

I really thought that after 10 weeks of working out my body would have adjusted and not be sore. My body hurts so bad. I really am amazed, I have weeks where nothing hurts and I feel skinny and strong, and then I have weeks like this one where everything hurts the entire workout and afterwards too. I am on the verge of a stomach ulcer because of the amount of Alieve I take with the negative amount of food.

Ok, sorry about that, enough bellyaching.

IMPORTANT

I have to call out my workout buddy. She has been a weenie this week. On Monday I gave her a pass cause the water at her house was out due to a broken water pipe or something so she didn't want to get sweaty at the gym, she did a really mild workout. By mild I mean she got on the leg press machine and didn't put any weight on it. I understood. Then on Tuesday, she didn't workout cause she had class. Completely forgiven cause I knew school was a mandatory thing before she signed up. But then today, no class, water working fine...."she just didn't feel like it" You didn't feel like it, tough. She hasn't worked out in 5 days at least and you didn't feel like it. (Put on your big girl panties and deal with it) Ha ha see below.

I will be expecting a good workout tomorrow or you better be coming up with some better excuses.

Tonight I went to workout with my niece and her friend from school. I was the designated driver. And for the most part I ate good today, little splurge on lunch but then I had a killer workout tonight so I really don't feel bad about it.

I will just go ahead and let you guys know I have a killer day tomorrow so I will probably not be posting tomorrow or it will be late. I do have an advantage tomorrow, I will be really busy so not a lot of time to sit and eat junk. Look for the positive. Ill try to get on sometime if I can.

Back on the Subject

Sorry, the last couple of post have not been weight loss related, I just thought they were funny. I have some news, I weighed this morning, I know it is not weigh day but I got a little excited. I woke up in a really really good mood this morning, I don't know why, so I weighed and I was down a pound. Pretty exciting.

I also had the best workout tonight. I did the bike for 15 minutes, the elliptical machine for 41 minutes and the treadmill for a mile, I don't know the time on that one. I'm really working on running a mile. At one point in my life I could run a 7 minute mile and now I can barely run a quarter of a mile. So new mini goal, 1 mile!!!!!

I have had a really sore calf for the last few days, more like weeks, and I thought it was the lifting weights but I think now it is the elliptical machine. I lifted last night no pain, elliptical tonight, AHHHHHHHH! No big deal, still have to work out.

Rumor Has It


Well what I have heard today is that a certain someone was caught going through garbage bags in the garage last night looking for some clothes. You better not get caught wearing those in public.

Makeover

So as I mentioned before 2 of my sisters and I gave the 3rd a makeover last night. Now I had nothing to do with the planning of this, basically I just got to go and line up a hair dresser that would come to her house at 10 o'clock at night. So she agreed to the makeover at church that morning, and so my other sister decided that she would change her mind or hide clothes if she knew we were coming so....the ambushed her. They got there about 9:30 and told her what was going on and then the hairdresser and I showed up a few minutes later. Yes her husband did know we were coming, thank you for not giving up the secret and making her stay awake. She is a teacher so she goes to be around (I don't really know) 5.

Basically what we did was give her a new hair style and then went through the closet and took away clothes that she can never EVER wear again.

So I have started with the before pictures, NOTICE THE 80's Perm!

I have added some wonderful pictures of some of the clothing we took out of the closet. Yes we did throw a lot away, but most was saved for Goodwill and our Yard Sale that is coming up.

First I would like to start with these gems...Your eyes are not deceiving you. YES those are wicker shoes with giant blue flowers.

This shirt could make and epileptic person have a seizure. Sooooo many colors and diagonal lines. It makes my eyes hurt.


This is a wonderful sweater circa 1994. Enough said...

Now these treasures are brand new...never worn, so if you would like to come pick these up at the yard sale they wont have foot sweat in them or anything. But be careful, with that faux fur lining that folds down, you might create a little foot sweat of your own.

These were described as her "dispatch shoes." Yes she worked as a police dispatcher, 13 years ago, and since when did you have to have a special type of shoes to sit at a desk or answer phones. Really.

OHHHHHHHH and we move on to the basketball shoes. Now she is 34 years and has not played basketball since her freshman year in high school, HIGH SCHOOL. That means these shoes are fixing to turn 20 years old. Happy Birthday.

Wow, there are so many things to say about this bag. Now the saying on it is pretty cute..."put your big girl panties on and deal with it" but do big girls really carry bags with sequins and boa feathers on it.

These were described as the best river shoes. Ha Ha. They need to take a solo trip down the river.
When we finished this was the pile of clothes that were being thrown out. This does not include the shoes. We had 4 full garbage bags of clothes and 2 more with shoes. I made one of my sisters sit by the pile so you could see really how big it was.

So after 4 hours a haircut and a closet clean out this was the final result, she is wearing the same outfit, it was really late, but look at the cute hair.
Now, some bargains had to be made. She was allowed to keep one of her favorite outside sweatshirts, but if she gets caught wearing it in public Maggie will rip it off her body and throw it away.
In conclusion, I would like to extend a special thanks to some very special people. First I would like to thank her husband for keeping her up and not telling. Then I would like to thanks Martha who cut the hair in the middle of the night even though she had to be up early to work this morning. I would like to thank Gus for keeping all of us entertained during the hair cutting process.
If you would like the dream team to visit your house in the middle of the night, sorry. We are kinda blunt and it would probably hurt your feelings.

Another Week

Hello, hope everyone is having a great Monday. So I ate not so good this weekend but I burned a lot of calories. I didn't go to the gym, it was really pretty outside so I helped my sister do yard work. So on top of a good workout, I have cuts and bruises all over my arms and legs. But So far so good today on the eating and I will be making my trek to the gym tonight for a good long workout. Be ready, I know this blog is mostly about weight loss, hence the title, Fat Girl to Thin, but last night 2 of my sisters and I gave the 4th a makeover wardrobe and hair. I will be posting on it later.

Today

Sorry about not posting today, I actually forgot about it until my sister told me tonight that she was waiting all day for me to post so sorry. I simply forgot.

I did gain this week but I'm not discouraged by it. I only had 4 days between weigh ins and 2 of those days I did weights and not cardio. I did have a pretty good workout tonight. I did 40 minutes on the elliptical machine. I was actually getting pretty mean looks tonight because I was still working out when they closed. But guess what I DON'T CARE.

Still not a great week but 7 days.....

Good Day

Well today I had a good day, I have eaten well and I fought the major craving of the Java Chiller at Sonic. I wanted one really bad but I didn't get it. I had a good supper tonight too, only vegetables with some corn bread. Then I went to workout. I'm pretty sure I wont be able to move tomorrow cause I'm already sore and I just got done working out. Whew!

Tomorrow is a cardio only day so I'm going to try to bust it. I have a new stack of magazines and I need a good workout. I took it easy yesterday so time to get a really good one. You know I love it when I leave the gym and the back of my shirt and shorts are wet with sweat. That just means you were doing something right. You know?

Well I'm going to run by the gym in the morning and weigh so I will post in the morning and let you guys know if I actually lost weight this week. I'm not really sure I have cause I cut two of my cardio workouts this week with weight lifting. But I'm sure my body will adjust to the change pretty quickly.

Oh and by the way, I had another good thing happen this morning. I had a shirt that I have not been able to wear for a while that fit, yeah. Then I got something on it so I hope it will come clean or the shirt I have been wanting to wear for a while will be ruined. Guess that's the way it works. ha ha.

New Goals

Well as I have learned over all my years of trying to lose weight, I do my best when I set one big goal and then small goals on the way towards my big goal. So I finished my first goal which was the biggest loser, so now I'm setting another one.

I have to attend a wedding in May. I'm hoping to lose another 30 before the wedding. This is a big goal so I'm going to do my best. The wedding is May 24th so I will have over 2 months for my next goal. Wish me luck.

Guess What!!!!




I finally got to lift weights. Last night I got to lift both arms and legs, and today I didn't lift. My arms were not as sore as I thought they would be and my legs hurt worse than I thought. I was really sure it would be the other way around. But anyway, I was really excited to lift. My workout buddy came with me, and she was more sore in her arms than legs. I just find it amazing that both of us did the same workout and were sore in different ways.

I've been busy today so I didn't get to tell you all about my weight lifting. We went to workout again tonight and had a much easier workout. I had a stomach ache tonight so I needed a easier workout. While we were there tonight she got news that one of her friends was engaged. Woo Hoo. But the entire time she was there she was getting text messages from other friends. So that said, I am officially adding number whatever to the etiquette list, no cell phones in the gym. If you are working out with someone else, do not bring your cell phone.

And something else, Look at me a little chatter box today, I was told that my aunt wants to come work out with me and my buddy. If you are reading this, WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU!!!! As everyone who reads this knows, I love having someone to workout with. So come on to the gym and we will lift weights and do cardio and be sore together. Yeah. My sister has also said she might like to join to, so I may never have to workout alone again EVER. YEAH!

2 days.....

P.S. The biggest loser program that I was involved in is officially over but we were told that starting in April we will be doing weigh ins again, just no more group classes. So it will be starting up again soon, sort of.

Thanks Everyone


You guys have left some of the kindest comments (some of you have even called or sent me facebook notices)...Some of you have even thanked me for doing this but you don't realize how helpful it has been to have to tell people when I gained one week or when I had a bad day, or how excited to tell the people that read my blog that I've had a great day. This has made me accountable to so many people that I don't want to do bad cause then everyone knows that I did badly. Thanks again.


And thank you very much to my sisters who have been very supportive and nice (even when I have not, cause I have not eaten in 2 days cause I have to weigh in) and made me diet chili so I could eat dinner with everyone else and saved me cupcakes for when this thing was over. You guys have been a lot of help.

3rd Place


Well I'm pretty excited tonight. I didn't win the competition but I did come in 3rd place. I got a prize of 3 months membership to the gym along with other trinkets. I was really excited. I knocked the 3rd place person off the list. WOOOO HOOOOO!

The only thing I was not happy about was the preggers girl did finish ahead of me. She was in second place. The guy who finished 1st did a great job he beat me by about 2%. Well tomorrow Ill be back to the gym and I am ready to go.

Also, you all know how excited I was to eat everything i wanted today. Well after breakfast I got a belly ache. I know Murphy's Law. But I did eat some things I have been wanting for 8 weeks.

Back on the weight loss wagon....4 days.

It's Over!

Well the Biggest Loser program is over. It has run its 8 weeks. Today at my weigh in I lost 4 more pounds. That gives me a grand total of 34 pounds for the program. We will know the results of who actually won tonight. I will let y'all know.

I do have a little funny for you. When I went to weigh this morning I had on a pair of mesh shorts and a little flimsy shirt and nothing else. I really wanted one more pound but I didn't really have any clothing to take off so its 4 instead of 5 and I still have my dignity. Ha Ha.

I'm taking the day off today. I'm not working out and I'm eating what I want and I'm really excited about that. Then back on the weight loss train tomorrow. Keep reading please.

Oh and I will begin weighing on Fridays instead of Mondays. So 5 days.....

TOMMORROW

Yeah, The Biggest Loser is over tomorrow. I have had lots of questions about this, yes, I am going to continue to lose weight. (at least attempt to) I will also continue to blog about it. I am taking tomorrow off, and then Tuesday I will begin my workouts again. To be honest I will probably workout at some point tomorrow. But I am going to eat some things that I have not allowed myself to have since this thing started.

I'm also going to start lifting a couple of days a week. I'm glad I did this program cause it got me back to the gym. Tomorrow I am going to try to get a new workout program that includes lifting weights with a mix of cardio and swimming. I'm really excited.

My family is also excited that this program is over tomorrow. Apparently I am not very nice when I am hungry. But until I get the rest of this weight off I will be hungry for a while. Sorry Guys.

2 More Days

I have 2 days left to go til this thing is over, and I'll be honest with you, I'm ready. I am going to continue to workout and lose weight and blog about it, but my body is tired from all this working out. I have a crazy day today so I will probably not be able to post anything else. Right now, my plan for the last two days is to get rid of as much water weight as I can. I will be working out hard to get a really good sweat, and I will probably be taking a diuretic just for the last little bit of water left in my body. I need a really good number this week to win.

I had a party to go to last night, it was actually at the health club where I workout so I got to get in a great workout before it was time to party and eat cake and cookies and chips and pizza. I didn't eat great but I didn't overdo it either. I am pretty pleased with the food choices I made.

2 Days til the final weigh in.....wish me luck.
