I Bought a Scale

Well, as you all know I don't typically weigh myself between weigh ins but guess what, I don't care anymore. I bought a scale and it gave me the best results I have had so far, yes I know it may not be the same as the one and the gym but I will check the difference tonight so I can have an accurate weight.

I got a pretty cool scale though. It keeps track of your starting weight, how much you have lost from it, and the last weight, and your goal weight. You only have to set it once and it keeps track of all these things. I didn't want one that did body fat and hydration and all that so this one was perfect.

Just thought I would share.....

Hello Monday

Good Morning all-

I hope you all had a great weekend, I know I had a good one but it was crazy. Like 73 baseball/softball games and 2 birthday parties. Just one of those crazy weekends. I did however stick to my diet (sort of). With two birthday parties I was "forced" to eat cake, but I ate small pieces and only 1 piece at each party. And boy it was gooooooood.

I also worked out this weekend. I hardly ever workout on Saturday and this Saturday was no different, but I did get to workout on Sunday. It was one of the best workouts I have had in a while. I'm kinda scared to have a really good week exercising because the last time I did that we all know what happened, 3 pounds happened. I hoping this week I can get off the last pound of that 3 pound weight gain and then a few more for good measure.

This Does Not Make Sense

Well,

I lost 2 lbs. this week. It really makes no sense to me how that happened. I ate everything I wanted and some things that I didn't want and hardly worked out at all and lost. Eh, I say take um where you can get um.

Hello

Well I have quite a lengthy post tonight cause I have been the worst blogger ever this week, lots of things to tell you.

First, I weigh in tomorrow, I'm not really looking forward to this weigh in cause I have done HORRIBLE this week. I mean really bad ate a lot and didn't workout as much as I have needed to. The last two days I have gotten back on track but I afraid it is too late. Anyway if I gain tomorrow I have no one to blame but me. I allowed a bad week to get in the way of my workouts and eating, basically I just used anything that didn't go my way as an excuse. so no more of that.....

Second, I have been given the opportunity to work with a personal trainer for a little while. The program that I did at the beginning of the year is looking to revamp. They are looking for a few people to go to through the new program to see if it is successful and if they want to do it with next years program. So I'm pretty excited to get this opportunity 4 days a week having my workouts planned for me and my eating monitored. Maybe with this I can finally break the 40 lb. mark. I have just gotten stuck at the 35 mark and it is finally driving me crazy.

I will let you all know tomorrow about the weigh in good or bad, but I'm not looking forward to it.

Well I am kind of upset this morning....I have a long day, kept me up most of the night...and when I went to weigh this morning it was not a good start to my day. I had a great week eating and working out and I was up 3 pounds this morning. I felt really good about this week wasn't worried about the weigh in at all and hum. Just kind of upset about it.

Motivated

I have been going through songs for a few weeks now trying to find something to sing at a friends wedding. Well yesterday I came up with a list of some of my favorites and so popular songs for weddings. All of this is just reminding me that I need to lose like 80 lbs. before the wedding. Yes, I know that number keeps going up, but the closer it gets the more I want to lose. Ha.

I spend the days at my office listening to possible wedding songs cause it keeps the weight loss on my mind and keeps from snacking on things that I know I shouldn't be eating. You know you gotta do what works for you.

Back Online

Hey guys, I have a new computer again so my post should be better now. Ive been struggling to find time to post and have a computer there too.

Any way congrats to my workout buddies and I we were all in the top 10 in the new weight loss contest. Number 3, 6, and 8. Yeah, I was number 6.

Yes I know you cannot read the names I did that on purpose for other peoples sake. If you look close you can see my name at number 6. Woooo Hooooo!!!

I had such a great workout, I cannot believe how crazy it was. I did my weight and my legs were so weak after I was finished with them they were shaking. Then I did arms and they were not as bad as legs but they are definitely fatigued. Good rest tonight will help me with any soreness. I am a little sore from yesterday, I used an axe to try to get a stump out of the ground at my sisters house, so my back and arms were a little sore from that and then a workout on top didn't help anything.

One of my weight loss buddies is taking it easy this week she is having some pain in her knees, but she still went today just took it easy.

New Weigh In Challenge

Hey I don't think I told you all this. The gym that I work out has started a new weight loss challenge. It is pretty much the same thing as before without any classes or meetings. And this one goes for 12 weeks as opposed to the 8 weeks last time. Both my workout buddies and I have signed up for this one. That is why I gave you their weights last night. Sorry, that would have made more sense if I had explained that before, but anyway there you go. Wish us luck.

A "Ha Ha" Moment

Last night I didn't get to say much, I was at the coffee shop playing trivia with some friends. But I do want to share with you all a funny moment from last night. I got on the elliptical machine to start my workout. Well as we all know I hate it when someone gets on the middle machine when there are three, and this guy was on the middle one. He kept staring. Normally I would take this as a complement, whatever, so I started my workout, I set the machine for 40 minutes and was going to go 25. The reason for more time is cause I like the beginning part of the setting on this machine.

Well as we are working out he keeps looking over at me and my time. Now I don't know if he was not thinking but I could see his time too, hello dude we are like sitting in each others laps, or course I can see his too. So....he has 18 minutes left when I started, his workout finished and he reset it for another 20 minutes. Well at this point I realize that he just wants to stay on longer than I am, so the competitor that I am I just decided that I was going to beat him.

You will all be happy to know that I won. HA HA. I ended up staying on the machine for 42 minutes and I was hurting pretty good at that point but I was not going to lose this little battle I had going.

Weigh In

Heyo.......

Well we weighed in this morning, I was down 7 lbs. And the joy just keeps going. My workout buddies lost 3 and 5 lbs. each. So all together there are 15 lbs. "floating around" out there. Try not to catch it.

Well, tonight I work my butt off and in the middle of my workout on the stair climber tonight my sweat was dripping on the machine. Pretty gross, but that has to mean something good.

Any how, minus the sweating, my workouts have been going great and still losing weight. Yeah.

Here I AM

Sorry its been a couple of days since I posted last, my computer has decided that it no longer wants to work, but have no fear, I have a laptop. My work computer is the one that has decided not to work, but I didn't know this until I got to work yesterday, sooooooo I now have the laptop at work with me. I could have posted last night but I was watching the fantastic game, CONGRATS KANSAS!!!!! I didn't really care which team won but I did enjoy the game.

Well workouts have been going good. I went and played tennis again on Sunday, it was really nice to be outside on a pretty day and not cooped up the the gym, but I was a gym rat yesterday. We did weights yesterday with a little cardio to get the heart rate up. I have to brag on my workout buddy. You remember the one who challenged me to the 100 jumps on the jump rope, well she started off only able to do 8-10 jumps and last night she got 100. Really proud of here, and don't worry LLL you'll get there.

My eating has been pretty good too this week, although the water thing hasn't gone as well as I hoped. I was doing good drinking my water but I have fallen off the wagon this weekend and didn't drink hardly any water. And have y'all seen the new reports about water? Apparently you don't have to drink 6-8 glasses any more just drink when you are hungry. I don't quite believe that but Google it, it was headline news. I have to do better with my water especially since I have just begun to sweat like a crazy monster during my workouts, and I don't know why. Seriously, last night on our weights night I was just pouring sweat. It doesn't matter but if anyone knows why you would just begin to sweat out of no where let me know.

New Muscles

Hey hey hey, I played tennis tonight for the first time in a long time. I have been playing on the Wii so of course I think I am a lot better than I really am. Well I played a friend today and I have found new muscles that are hurting now. The only way to make it feel better is to remind myself that I am good at real tennis and GREAT at Wii tennis. I'm playing again tomorrow if I can move in the morning.

Ohhhhh I'm Mad a Shoney's

Cute little bear, eh, well I'm angry at Shoney's today, so he's not so cute to me. I ate lunch today at Shoney's with my family, one of our favorite places to eat, they give us a nice table in the back and don't look at us funny when we have 40 kids and twice that many plates. Well today I went, I've already said today that I was struggling with eating out, trying to make good decisions. Well when I got there before the rest of my crew arrived, I asked for a list of their nutritional facts. I was under the impression that these facts were required by law to be in the store.

Just so you know that is not the case. They did not in fact have a list of their nutrition facts. Well, be technologically savvy as I think I am I got on my blackberry to their website to look them up there. Nothing. Actually when I went to the menu options for the restaurant it says, UNDER CONSTRUCTION.



Ok, So after I got this wonderful message I was really hot. I had no idea what to eat and no guidance. It got me to thinking. I remember hearing (never tried to find the info on my own) that chain restaurants were required BY LAW to have the nutrition fact. They don't. When I got back to work after my lunch I did some research and this is what I found.

According to http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h109-5563 this bill never passed. The plan was called the MEAL ACT.

H.R. 5563 [109th]: MEAL Act
To amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act
to extend the food labeling requirements of the Nutrition Labeling and Education
Act of 1990 to enable customers to make informed choices about the nutritional
content of standard menu items in large chain restaurants.

This bill never became law. This bill was proposed in a previous session of Congress. Sessions of Congress last two years, and at the end of each session all proposed bills and resolutions that haven't passed are cleared from the books.




So for all of you that thought they were required to have it, think again. Most fast food restaurants have nutrition facts online, but not Shoney's. I just thought this might be interesting to some of you and the other that don't care thanks for listening to me vent about it. I will know in the future to take my lunch with me when we go to Shoney's. I pretty sure I know what the nutrition facts are for Diet Coke which will be all I order there from now on.

Eating out Tips (that work for me)

You will all be happy to know that I am no longer sore, well not really all the way over it but mostly. My stomach hurts a little and I have a spot on my left leg that I am pretty sure is going to rot out and fall off, but other than that the soreness is gone. I'm really excited about that. We had cardio last night and I worked pretty hard there. When I left I went to eat dinner with my friends. I didn't think I was as sweaty as I had been but about and hour into dinner I was FREEZING.

Oh and I had the best dinner last night. I find it really hard to eat out when I am really tyring to stick to a weight loss plan, other than Subway I don't know where to go. Well we went to Mexican last night, on of the hardest places for me to have self control, but I figure that I have to be able to eat everywhere. Well a few weeks I discovered if I drink a ton of water before they even bring the chips and salsa then I don't eat near as much. Also, I bring my own chips. I can buy baked chips at Wal-Mart before I go and that cuts my calorie content majorly. Well, after 6 glasses of water and 1 diet coke, I was really not all that hungry anymore, but I did get to eat chips and salsa (good chips), and I ordered a chicken taco, no cheese. It was really satisfying and I didn't have belly ache when I left like I usually do when I eat Mexican.

The only down side to the water theory is you have to go to the bathroom all night long. It gets annoying after a while, but I just try to look at it like this, I can have to go to the bathroom all night or not be able to sleep because I gorged myself eating way to much and now my belly aches. So, it works for me, if you love Mexican give it a try.

Weigh In

Today I weighed, I am up 3 lbs from the end of Biggest Loser. No big deal. For not working out in 2 weeks and gaining only 3 I'm pretty happy with that. Those three will be gone next week.

Little Weight Loss Humor (for the big girls)

The other day while I was working out I was really just going at it. I mean I was working so hard. About 5 minutes into my exercise I was getting tired and thinking about quitting. Then out of no where I heard the girl behind me started clapping. I thought that was really nice so I kept going and even started working harder. The clapping continued for about 5 minutes straight so I finally looked back to see who it was. There was no one in the room. That was when I realized that no one was clapping but it was the sound of my thighs smacking together.

Ha Ha a little fat girl humor for you. I thought you would enjoy!!!!!! Smile!

By the way

I still do not feel comfortable changing in front of your 7 year old son!!!!!!!!

Seriously, make them change in the boys locker room. If they are old enough to know that "boobies" are private they are old enough to change by themselves in the gender appropriate locker room.

Sooooo Proud

Well I need to take a moment to brag on my new workout buddy. She has really "champed" it out. We worked out again tonight, tonight was weights. We are both sore and she still worked out as hard as she has the last two nights. I know it is still the beginning but the enthusiasm has been great.

While I'm on the subject of being sore, I have decided why those people who workout everyday, workout every day. If you stop working out you have to go through being sore again. The only reason they workout everyday is so they don't have to go through that. My stomach hurts so bad that it hurts to take a deep breath and it is almost fatal to cough or move.

Last night the workout went good. We did 15 minutes of intervals on the bike, it really kicked my tail. Then we did elliptical and treadmill, and abs again. I got my wish, when I left I was sweating like CRAZY.

So tomorrow we weigh. Yes I did sign up both of my workout buddies for the new weight loss program. I'll let you know.

Cardio NIGHT

wooooo hoooooo.......tonight is all cardio all night. Get ready for a hard hard hard workout. I want to leave the gym with my clothes soaking wet with sweat. I have begun to get sore from yesterday. My abs and my legs are sore but my arms are holding up pretty good.

Well I have to vent just a little bit. I live in a smaller town, we have one grocery store and a Wal-Mart supercenter. Really, why is no one carrying the morning oatmeal I like. I eat the Quaker Weight Smart or Low Sugar oatmeal in the mornings, keeps me filled up and has little fat and calories, more carbs than I would like but I don't really care about that. If you get the Low Sugar or Weight Smart it really cuts down on the carbs, anyway, I cannot find it at either store in the flavor I like, I would eat the cinnamon or brown sugar but neither place has it. It has put my day off to a frustrating start.
