Body Bugg

Hello all,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday. I know that I was blessed to spend a few days off with my family and we had a wonderful time.

I have to share with you all some of the gifts I received. First, I got workout clothes. This means now I don't have to do laundry every other day just to be able to wear a clean sports bra. Yes that is not an exaggeration, I have 2 sports bras and two pair of workout shorts. But now I have 4 sports bras and 3 pairs of bottoms and a pair of running pants. I am so excited to wear all my new stuff. I told my family that I was going to have to start working out without a shirt on cause my new bras were sooooooo cute. (Just in case you are wondering...that will never happen)

I also got........................A BODY BUGG!!!!!I am so excited about my new toy, you cannot even understand. I had it set up the day after Christmas and on my arm. I have been syncing it all the time so I can see how many calories I have burned. If you have been readers, I had the opportunity to wear a body bugg a few months ago and really enjoyed it and now I have one all to myself that I don't have to give back...This is the child in me gloating a little bit.

Well I should, key word should, be able to give you such detailed blog posts now, like calories burned, steps taken, calorie deficit, and so many other things....ohhhhh I cant wait.

Merry Christmas

Ha Ha Moment.

This was my Holiday Card this year, and no as a single person that is not 5 I do not send out Christmas Cards with pictures but this was a joke for my sister. Thought I would share.

The Contest

Hello- still in the lead....

My new nails are going to be soooooo pretty.

Well I will have to say I am in the lead, but I am not please with this week. We all gained, not much but up none the less. This week will have to be better and I am hoping I can separate myself a little bit from the bunch. My family does do some eating but I don't have to worry about all the Turkey and Dressing and Yams and this and that and the other thing..... We eat stuff like sandwiches and soup for Christmas so I am hoping they go Hog Wild and I can lose a couple of pounds over the holiday. That is the plan at least we will see how it goes.

The percentages are as follows:

Em: 2.76%
Sly: 1.48 %
Big Head: 1.29%

Like I said everyone gained so that sucked but it could have been worse. Wish me luck for next week.

Forever Post

Hello Hello Hello all and Merry Christmas.

I know it has been too long between post and I really am sorry about that. We have a lot to cover today. First I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. And I hope you all celebrate til you are blue in the face.

I thought the candy Merry Christmas was fitting being that this blog is about diet and exercise and no one cares about that over the holidays.

So eat up, drink up, have all the candy and sugar you want cause after Christmas you know you all will have the "My new years resolution is to loose weight..." and I hope you do! We all know that will be my resolutions too....

Weigh In Day

Hello all,

We had our first weigh in today and I did GREAT!!!!!! I'm really excited about it. This week I had a loss of 9.4 lbs. I will have to credit my second job for some of that...other than the fact that I walk 89+ miles a night last night I was given the pet food isle. Can I just tell you that it gets heavy carrying all those stupid bags for what feels like miles and miles when it is really just 40 ft.

Anyway Big Head had a loss of 3.4 lbs, and Sly has not weighed yet.

Ill let you know when I have all results.

And the Challenge Begins

Tomorrow is the big day, and in anticipation I have eaten everything I can get my hands on. I want to be up a few pounds by tomorrow. Luckily I have to work tonight so I will try to drink lots and lots and lots more water before tomorrow and then come weigh. That way I don't have to do all my weight gain with poor eating. Ill let you know how it goes tomorrow. Hopefully we can do all of our weigh ins on Monday....even though I hate it on Monday it really makes me be good over the weekend.

Wish me luck!!!!

We Are Just Throwing Challenges Around Like Candy

OK, we are a few weeks away from Biggest Loser at the Patrick again starting in 2010. I don't even know for sure if they are doing it next year or not but I am preparing for it.

Well a girl that I work with went shopping the other day and didn't love the results so she is ready to go on a diet, and another lady I work with has been talking about joining the Patrick but has yet to do it in the last 4 months, so we have decided to start a weight loss challenge here at the office.

We have another woman at work who will be the judge, weight loss keeper and overall queen of the contest. We are not going to let her play though, she needs to gain about 15lbs...30 to be up to snuff with the rest of us. We haven't even asked her yet to help, hope that is ok.

We were going to start at the new year but after BH went shopping we have moved the start date up to Monday. Its funny the little things that will motivate you.

We also have a prize. Whoever wins gets a Mani Pedi at their place of choice. I'm thinking of painting my nails know like a true red RED!!!!!!

These two only have about 40lbs to lose total, collectively. I have 100lbs that could come off and I would still be in plus size as long as I stay focused I should be able to take them.

Way Back

A friend of mine just posted an old picture of me online, thanks facebook for embarrassing photos.

Well this was one of my heaviest time in my life so I thought I would share with you all since not everyone has facebook.

This really helped me...I kinda get bogged down with all this weight loss stuff sometimes. I have lost a lot of weight but there is still so much more to go. This just keeps it in perspective and keeps me motivated.

Black Friday Fun

I told you all I would try to get some pictures for you...and here we go...

This is the planning phase of the day...this happens on Thanksgiving night. This year we started really early, about midnight... The girls went to Toys R Us while I went to Wal-Mart all by my lonesome.
The black Friday bumper sticker that we think someone tried to steal about half way through the day.

Wal-Mart Line beginning...oh yeah I was first...
I never realized how big the isles were at Wal-Mart until they took everything out of it. The top picture is with nothing in the isle and the second is when the pallets came out.

One the way to Huntsville. This is where the fun starts.
I had to ride in the back of the van alone...
but Maggie joined me after about 2 minutes.

This was after the lunch break, at 9 o'clock. We lost this one on the way home. It was pretty cute.

We had a blast and got a lot of Christmas presents. I only have a few presents left to buy. Hope you enjoy.

Happy Turkey Day

As you all know this week is Thanksgiving week. I hope you all have something to be Thankful for, I know that I have been blessed and wish you all wonderful holiday joy.

And as many of you know if you have been following my blog, this is also Black Friday week. This is one of my favorite days of the year. When I look back on how this tradition started I really don't even know. I think the year we started we needed scooters, and they were way on sale and man has it escalated since then. Now we start about 3 in the morning instead of 5 and go all day long. We have a few new shoppers this year, my niece is finally old enough to go this year and Patty, she is just a good friend. I am kinda hoping that everyone needs small stuff this year cause there is no way we will be able to get that much stuff in the car and still be able to ride in the car.

I am going to try this year to take some pictures so I can share with you all. But in the heat of battle there are no promises.

Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Wonderful Black Friday.

My Heroes

I have to share with you all how wonderful my sisters and their children are. I always knew these girls were sweet but this brought a tear to my eye. Let me start with I haven't mowed my yard in the past few weeks so the leaves and the grass was out of control. I finally was going to get a day off on Saturday and all I got to do was yard work.

Well on Saturday my sisters asked if I wanted to walk around the square with them and look for deals and sales. (Host of Christmas Past was in town) Well I ended up eating with them before we left for town and my littlest niece was dying to tell me something. They all acted like it was a Christmas present they had bought for me that day. Well they finally got her to not talk about it again until the meal was over.

We were standing outside and she (the little one) came over to me and wanted me to hold her. I could tell she was still dying to tell me something. She held it in as long as she could and then she told me that she along with her cousins had "rolled my grass." A few weeks ago I took another niece to go rolling and we rolled my sisters house so I just thought this was payback.

Well after that I was dying to go home and see just how bad my yard was. I had been at work all day so they had plenty of time to get me really good. They were even talking about throwing rolls over the house. So I went home and they followed me to pick me up to go to town.

When I got home there was no toilet paper, there was nothing. I was so confused. My sister popped out of the car and said "oh just check the backyard" That is when I figured it out. (I hadn't slept in 36 hours at this point, that's why I was so slow) When I looked in the backyard, there were no leaves, and the lawn had been mowed. I was super excited. This meant I got to sleep the next day!!!!!!!!!

Well on top of them cleaning up my yard, they also came back over the next day and helped clean out the gutters. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Aww with the raking.
Keith cleaning out the gutters.
The children loved the leaves, they played in them the day that the girls did all the work and then they played in them again during the gutter clean out.

So so long

Hello all,

I wanted to get back on here after a very long week. I wanted to let you all know that my post may be few and far between for the next few weeks. I have taken a second job working nights so most of my waking hours are spent sleeping. I know how that sounds but I think you know what I mean. I'm still trying to do good on my diet, not eating overnight when I have eaten during the day... I have even been walking on my lunch break instead of just sitting for 30 minutes.

This has however put a damper on my working out. Some days if I have to work that night I choose (yes choose) to go home and sleep instead of working out. Well tonight I have my favorite workout class and I will be attending. I don't have to work tonight and I am so very happy about getting to the gym. I hope ones my schedule becomes more of a routine then I will be able to get to the gym more often. I have been doing this for about a week and a half now and I am less tired and have a little more energy so hopefully that is a sign that my body is adjusting and I am able to get to the gym. What I don't want to do is get exhausted. I wont be doing my body or myself any good in that situation. So right now I'm playing it by ear until I can get into more of a routine.

Also, my friend at work has decided that she is ready to go on a diet with me. She has been off and on with it for a while now, but she is ready to join me...hopefully that will be a little motivating as well. I love having someone who can talk about struggles as well as successes with.

And to my wonderful workout buddy (who never works out) has entered the Biggest Loser at her work. GOOD LUCK! I hope you win.

I probably forgot something in all of this, lots of info in a short email. I will like always keep you updated on my progress...and for those of you who are my faithful readers, I am still holding strong to the no hair cutting until 100 lbs. Well since making that promise, I have gained 3lbs. so 28 lbs to a hair cut. Woo Hoo. I wish you all could see this crap on top of my head.

Ha Ha Email

This just fell into my inbox and I thought it was too funny to not pass along.

You Guys Played Great

Hello all,

I just got home from a ballgame came straight in the house changed clothes to get comfortable and now I have climbed up on my soap box. Just so you know this has nothing to do with diet, weight loss, or exercise. I have to speak on behalf of a bunch of middle schoolers that will not be able to have a voice.

For starters I am a huge supporter of Riverside Christian Academy. We are the smallest smallest school in our county with PreK through 12 grade. Our county has 7 other middle schools in the area, none of which will play us in sports during regular season. I DO NOT know why the other schools in our county will not play us in sports. On any good season there may be 1-2 teams that will schedule us during regular season. For the most part our teams travel out of county and state to fill a schedule. Right now I am speaking for middle school only, high school has its conference that it must play in, but middle school does not fall in that category.

However, the local Lions Club puts on a tournament every year for the middle schools in our county and they ask us to be a part of it. In my opinion, if our team is not going to be given a fair chance to play and win, WHY INVITE THEM AT ALL!!!!!!

Let me just tell you a little about our games during this tournament. On Saturday night we played a team that we were evenly matched with, probably a little better than, but none the less they were our first draw. When that game was over I just assumed we were on the bad side of a horrible referee or home cooked. But I really let that game go and thought...we will show them. In fact they showed us, that they had no desire to let us win in their tournament.
We played our second game of the tourney and won big.

Tonight however, I witnessed the most blatant form of fixing a game that I have ever seen in my life. This game started out pretty normal, evenly matched through the first half, even fouls called on both ins of the court, a couple of questionable calls but nothing major. During the second half of the game, the game stayed within about 6 points both teams having a lead at any point. The game came down to a nail biter at the end within 1 point in their favor with less than a minute on the clock.

When the second half started our guys entered the court 5 against 7. The referees, TSSAA referees, openly favored the other team (I think they had uniforms under their stripes.) Please let me provide a few of the many examples:

1. At one point during the game, the last few seconds, we were down by 1 point. They inbounded the ball and our player grabbed the other team member trying to draw the foul. He was holding the kid around the waist looking up at the ref trying to get the foul called so the clock would stop and the ref would not call the foul, he did however call a jump ball that gave the ball to the other team again.

2. During an inbounds play also with very little time left on the clock, they were again in possession. We held them to a 5 count, great defense boys, but the offside ref gave the other team a timeout, after the 5 second call had been made.

3. One of our boys was called for going over the line on an inbounds play....questionable!

4. At one point during the game, the ref blew his whistle but didn't have an actual call to make that would go in the other teams favor, so he just called a jump ball again. Ha Ha to him, the ball went to us that time. Just so you know, the ball was never tied up, so that was again questionable.

5. One of the refs, had 3-4 nephews on the other team... (not sure how many) and best I can tell they just nominated him the Mayor of Flintville.

That's just of few of the examples of how our boys were treated tonight. I also thought that maybe I was being a little sensitive about the game, but when I left the gym I had another person come out to talk to me and my sisters. He was not a fan of either team that had been playing. He asked had the whole game been called as badly as the last 4-5 minutes.

I would also like to say, that our guys didn't win the game, and that is not why I am so upset. Our boys weren't given a chance to win the game. Call after call was made against them to give the other team possession. We may or may not have won the tournament, may have not even won the game tonight (with real refs) but our boys deserved a chance to play this game.

I have so many questions after that game tonight. I want to know what TSSAA in Lincoln Co. will not allow our boy a chance to play a team without the refs becoming a factor. The refs are there to supervise and enforce rules, not determine the outcome. And that is exactly what they did tonight. AGAIN...WHY INVITE US TO PLAY IN YOUR TOURNAMENT IF WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE ALLOWED THE SAME COURTESY AS EVERY OTHER TEAM, THAT IS FAIR REFS WITH NO OTHER AGENDA? Our boys were there to play basketball, not to be some pawns in a county game of the Private vs. Public schools.

If I had been the coach of the other team I would refuse to accept that as a W in my book. I would have hung my head in shame after the game.

And while I'm on my soap box I will go ahead and continue to the parents that can never admit that their children make mistakes too. I had a parent come to me after the game and tell me that if we had some big boys down low we would have won that game. Well you know what, if we had made one of many of our missed three pointer, layups, and free throws, then the game wouldn't have even come down to the last second. But I guess its so easy to blame things on other peoples children. This is a team sport, one persons mistake is a team mistake. Whats that famous phrase "There's not I in Team."

Biggest Loser Update

I know all you guys are just sitting at home on Tuesdays watching biggest loser like me, but maybe you missed it this week. For starters I told you all I loved Rudy...well this week he set the record for 100 lbs on the ranch in 7 weeks. Yeah for him. He is still my favorite and I want him to win. I usually start routing for a woman about this time in the show but he is the winner in my book right now.

I still really like Abby too, but unfortunately she went home last night. I am so proud of this girl and wish her the best of luck. Any of you who are not watching a really suggest that you read or watch her story online. (even if you do no like the Biggest Loser) She is truly an inspiration.

This is a New Kind of Sore

I know I get on here a few times a month just to complain about being sore. All I know is this is the second week in a row my little aerobics instructor has decided to kick our tails on Tuesday knowing we have to come back on Wednesday. I mean to tell you she put us through the ringer last night. I cannot even tell you exactly what exercise hurt me so bad but man she put it to us. This has gone today past soreness to pain, pain, PAIN!!! It hurts to sit and stand, and breath, and well everything and anything else you can think of. Last week when she did this on Tuesday I was nearly useless on Wednesday.

Also, I have the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I'm going to give it 30 days and if I'm not shredded then I'm going to stop doing it. I will have to say though it is a nice 20 minute workout to get your day started. Doesn't take to much time but really gets the heart rate up and gets you sweating. I really like it, so I probably wont stop doing it, I might just buy my own wonderful cousin let me borrow it.

Calorie King

I have just found a great new website to help with calorie counting. It is really easy to navigate and has store brands as well as fast food and resturant options. Just lots of information.

After playing with it the other day I changed some of my eating habits because I didnt really realize how many calories some foods had in them. For example, no more peanuts for snack everyday...just every now and then. Crazy calories!

I Beat the Treadmill

As many of you know if you follow me on Twitter, I have gotten to the point where I do not want to just sit and watch TV because I feel like it could be time to spend at the gym or burning calories. I always try to do something like cook supper or fix lunch for the next day or laundry...the list goes on and on. Well since my wonderful cousin has let me use her treadmill til she moves into her house I have started walking on the treadmill at night while I'm watching TV. I walk at a regular stroll pace, not too fast or too slow and I will play with the incline, but never much over 3-4.

Well the reason I tell you all this is because, last night I outlasted the treadmill. I really like Thursday night TV and my workout class is over by 5 on Thursday so I have free time in the afternoons on Thursday. I walked for 100 minutes, actually 99:59. The machine just cut off. I didn't know it would do this. Usually I have to get off to use the restroom or take a phone call but last night I answered the phone from the machine so I never really had to get off and stop the time.

Let me just tell you this...even if you are not walking fast, when that belt stops moving and you keep up the same pace it hurts when you walk straight into the control panel of the machine. I'm not bruised today but I was really concerned that I would be after the collision that happened last night.

Just thought you all would enjoy.

Biggest Loser

I am just now getting around to watching last weeks Biggest Loser. My VCR didn't record last week so....

Why in the Hell would they not send Tracy home. This woman is awful and I want her to go home. They are missing a prime opportunity to get her out of the house. Other than her attitude, she also is smaller than anyone on the team. If they all wanted to play the game like she has been doing they would kick her butt off.

Uh, I'm just wanting her gone. She is like the Joelle of last season.

Biggest Loser tonight!!!

Back from Vacation and Back on the Wagon

Well for starters I had a wonderful vacation...spent tons of time on the beach and in the pool. Worked out a little bit, but played a lot. I was a bad little girl though, I drank diet coke the entire trip and I enjoyed it very very much.

Since being back I have again given up my diet coke. I miss them already but I have done it before so I can do it again. I have also gotten back to my workouts and it makes me feel so much better and sleep better. I am still working on getting ready for the half marathon. I really want to be able to complete this thing, I want to run it but just to finish would be huge.

I have also decided for a little extra help to get to my next big goal... 100 lbs.... that I will not cut my hair. These pounds are coming off slower and slower each week but I think that this might be a little extra motivation.
I can tell it has been a few to many days of not working out because this week I have been super sore from kick boxing and Zumba. But hopefully this soreness will soon work itself out and will not be with me for days and days like last time.
I hope to be able to tell you all soon that I have hit my new mark. I will be looking forward to it.

Week without Workout

I have not had much to say this week so I have not been posting. I have not eaten great and I have not gotten my workouts in. Soooooo basically I have not done well this week. My volleyball team had 3 games in 2 nights this week so I allowed that get in my head and tell me that I didnt have time to workout. I know that was stupid to do but I did just make an excuse instead of just doing the work.

Anyway, I didn't do good, I will just have to let that go and do better. On a happier note...I am going to the beach in 3 days and I am crazy excited about that. I will not be posting much if at all while I am out of town. The place we are going has a great gym so I will be able to get my workouts in while I am there. I will also get to walk or run on the beach even if it is while we are playing. I'm so excited to go. I just wish I had a bathing suit that fit. I have one bathing suit that is too big and one that is too small. I don't think that if the bathing suit fit that it would make me look 40 lbs lighter or anything but if it did fit it might look better. But I don't care, I will be at the beach. WOO HOO.

Ill be back late next week if not sooner, but don't hold your breath.

Biggest Loser and Everything Else

Hello all, I know again it has been too long since my last post and I have so many things to let you all know.

For starters, the Biggest Loser Premier was last night, Yea!!!!!!! I love this show so much and I have already picked out some of my favorites. The girl that is the heaviest ever, I had so much hope for her, but then she quit (yes I know she came back) but she quit and most people know that I don't have much time for quitters. I also like Abby from the green team. She has more perseverance and heart than just about anyone I have ever seen. She has experienced pain that most will not ever know and hopefully will never have to know but she still has a positive attitude. She even used the phrase that I love "Happiness is a Choice" So of course she is one of my faves. I also like the Green team and the Red Team. I will know more of who I think will win at a later date. And don't worry I will have lots of comments and posts about Biggest Loser.

Next up, the Knee!!!! Dum dum dum. (you have to sing that part) Well I have noticed that when I actually publish my goals that I come closer to achieving them than when I don't let anyone know what they are. Well, I saw two doctors and neither one of them could tell me exactly what was wrong. So at the same time I became incredibly as long as I can I will be forgoing surgery on the knee and running the half marathon in Nashville in April. This gives me plenty of time to train without killing my joints and maybe just maybe I can finish 13 miles. I hope in the weeks and months to come I can stay as motivated to run this as I am right now.

So there you go. That is my update for a week and hopefully I will not take as much time between posts as I did last time. Just to let you all know please do tell me what happens cause until volleyball season is over I have to record it and watch it later in the night.

Also, hello Amy. I just found out that Amy has been reading my blog without me know so I hope you enjoy.

Weekend Trail Ride

Well I worked all weekend and actually had a blast. I had a few showings and we did a benefit trail ride. I consider myself in pretty good shape and not even I expected the soreness that I ended up with. I rode a horse for about 3 hours and my legs are not sore but my butt and my back are in a kind of pain that I have never experienced. I have a few pictures for you to enjoy from the ride.I will be adding more pictures throughout the day as I get them on my computer. Anna, there is a special one for you.
Anna just got off her horse and had to jack her pants up.

Absentee Blogger

Sorry it has been so long since I last posted. Kinda busy on my end. We have multiple sports going at the moment and work is picking up so the time just gets away from me. I will do better. I am really going to have to figure out how to post from my phone, that seems to be the best way to communicate with anyone.

I know I told you all I was going to be weighing on Fridays and I really haven't been on the scales in about 2 weeks so I'm not really sure what my weight is to give you an update. I have still been eating ok, not great, and getting in my workouts just haven't weighted.

I did go back to the Dr. and it looks like I am going to have surgery on my knee to fix all the crap that is going on with that. I am going next week to another Dr. for a second opinion, my hope is that he will say that it is fine, here is a magic pill that will make it all better, but I'm pretty sure that is not going to happen. I really want to hit the 100 lb. mark before surgery but I'm just not sure that I can get there. I am going to give it everything Ive got.

My biggest concern about the surgery (possibly surgeries) is that I will gain back so much weight that I will get discouraged. We are looking at 6-9 months of no to little physical activity. Basically all I will be able to do for a long while is lift weights (upper body) and walk on a treadmill and even walking will be delayed. I burn so many calories a day in my workouts that it allows me to be a little more relaxed about my diet but with no activity I will have to cut so many calories, I just don't know how long I will be able to keep that up.

But the journey is not over. I will get to my target weight, it just may not be a soon as I hoped for.

Weigh In

Well they are just going great as of the 75lb mark. I still have not lost another ounce. Whatever though, I'm still working out really hard and I know I will start to lose again. Just another plateau. Also, right now I have a strained muscle in my chest, the 2nd time now and boy does it hurt. I'll be alright though, this is my day off of exercise so Ill get to rest it a little.

Bodybuilding Part II

Hey all, tonight is my major big workout night, as we all know I tend to rest a little on Wed. Well tonight has just gone from my big workout night to the major workout night. I have been lifting every other day for the last couple of weeks and enjoying the results I have gotten from it. But my body and muscles have been just worn out from all the lifting. I was reading on how to help with fatigue of the muscles and I have decided to give myself 2 days of rest instead of just one. Maybe, hopefully, this will help with the muscle soreness and weakness. So tonight instead of the 2 classes, boot camp and Zumba, now I have to add the weights to it. But all I keep thinking is on this day every week I get to eat just a little bit more than regular and that make me happy.:)

Also, I have decided I am going to weigh every Friday again instead of every morning. I'm getting tired of seeing the little results each day and the fluctuations (water or too big supper) that are throwing my weight off for the day and getting me a little discouraged. I would rather see a bigger number once a week than a small one each day... Hopefully, I will remember to log on and let you know how the week went. And I wont be stuck to the Monday weigh in that sucks so bad. Keep up, once a week for sure!!!!!

Hey hey hey,

I got some new clothes last night and I am so excited for my new stuff. I have 2 pairs of pants now, yes 2 pairs, and they both fit, not stay up, they fit!!!!!!! I am very excited about that. The fact that they aren't just hanging on for dear life and actually fit my butt and thighs makes me feel curvy and cute!

A few weeks ago my skirt fell off at work and luckily I had on cute panties. I told my mom last night that I was going to wear the ugliest panties that I had today because I was sure my pants would not fall off! Just imagine, my new cute outfit with ugly granny panties!

Just a little funny for you all to start the weekend.

I DID IT!!!!

After weeks of groaning I finally did it!!!! I have lost 75lbs. Yeah Me.
Actually if you notice the counter at the top it is 76 lbs.

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

Just so you all know....I am still 4 lbs. away from my goal of 75 lbs. I'm kinda pissed about this...I don't know what to do to get past this. I tried eating more, eating less, working out more, working out less, it just does not seem to matter I cannot seem to get to this goal. And it is driving me crazy....

I will keep fighting on in hopes of setting a new goal of 100 lbs next but man I am ready to get past this milestone.

Any suggestions on how to beat the plateau would be greatly appreciated.

Ok I have been on Twitter for about a month or so now and can I just say it is like the greatest thing ever. I suggest you all follow me on Twitter and get your own account and play along. IT IS GREAT!

75 lbs. is My Everst

Hello all,

Just writing with a little frustration this morning. I told you all that I was going to up my weights and I have, just a little sore, nothing too bad, so I really don't have much to complain about there.

I do however want to say that I am 4 lbs away from my first big goal of 75 lbs. I have been within 5-10 lbs of this goal for about a month now and I just cannot get there. IT IS ABOUT TO DRIVE ME NUTS. Overall that is my halfway point and I am just having all kinds trouble and frustration getting there. Hopefully by Friday next week I can happily say that I have lost 75 lbs. I'm tired of saying that I have almost lost it, or I'm close to it. I'm ready to get past it.

Weights again tonight, then REST tomorrow. Well rest from weights, I have Zumba in the AM.

Ill keep you posted.

Body Building

Hello all my peeps,

I am not becoming a bodybuilder just so you know, kind of a misleading title I guess, but I am fixing to start upping my weight lifting a bit. Just trying to give you guys a heads up, because you will probably have to hear about how sore I am for a week or so. I'm really hoping to get some muscle definition. I know there is a lot of muscle under this skin and FAT but I am getting to the point where I am freaking ready for some this is what it has come to, major weight lifting. I will still keep up my cardio classes, running, and Zumba, just adding a little more time in the gym. I'm wondering if they might let me put my bed there cause at this point the only thing I do at home is sleep and I could just save some time this way. :)

By the way, still no diet drinks almost 2 months now and still Organic best I can!

How Much is it Worth to Eat Your Veggies!!!

Hello all,

I have a funny for you all today. Nothing much is happening with me right now. Im back to my weight from before vacation, just a few extra workouts here and there and I was back on track.

I wanted to show you all a video that was taken a supper not to long ago. My neice was offered $20 to eat 2 beets (not even sure if it is a veggie). I was offered a dollar or so a few years back for this same challenge so I couldnt do any better cause I know how bad they taste. Well I just happened to catch the whole event on video. Do you think this is worth $20?

By the way she didnt puke she is just spitting out the beet and the water. Sorry it is so loud but I dont know how to change that!

Back from Vacation

Hello all,

I am back from a long vacation, I was really only out of town for about 3 days and then took 2 more off work. But I'm back now.

While on vacation I was awful, I didn't eat good or get to workout like I wanted too, but today is a new day and I am back in business. I don't like to cheat with any excuses, so none of the I was on vacation so I get to take a break, its a lifestyle so I should have adjusted. But whatever, I did bad and I am owning it and doing better now.

I am about 2 lbs. away from my first big big BIG goal of 75 lbs and hoping I can be there by this weekend. That would be awesome.

Race Day has Come and Gone

The run for Ella was a success, there were tons of people there to run and some there just for support, but it was great fun and for a great cause. Miss Ella was also there with her family to give out the awards. I was so happy to see how our small town has come together for this little girl.

Anyway, my goal for this run was 40 minutes but I didn't allow for such a rough terrain and so many people. I finished in 46 minutes and was really happy about that. There were places in the trail that two people could not run side by side so if you got behind walkers then you had to wait till you could pass. I was happy with my time and more happy that I finished the run. I had quite a crew that ran from my family, this picture is from the Sonic stop afterwards, we needed some liquid after such a hot run.

The Knee Part III

Well its still hurt, nothing really changed there...

I get my knee brace tomorrow, just in time too. I have 3 softball games tomorrow and then the race on Saturday! Only been trying to get it for a month now.

PS: Its going to be pink and I am really excited about that!

Run For Ella

2 Days till the big race....Yes I understand that this is to raise money for Ella and not a great competition, but I really like to win things that I enter. So I am really excited and hope I do OK and can run the whole thing or at least most of it.

Anyway, I did an hour on the treadmill last night after Zumba and Zumba toning, just a mix of walking and running, nothing major. Just trying not to wear my legs out by Saturday, but still trying to get the miles in.

It's Me Again

I know my post have been a little sporadic lately, but my work has gotten kinda busy...that's a good thing in my industry. Anyway, I am still doing the best I can with my Organic diet and still off Diet Cokes. I have seen more results with the organic thing than just about anything else I have tried so I am going to stick with it a little bit longer. I have been running like crazy for the last few weeks and the race is almost here. I am seriously looking forward to it, and plan to keep up the running even with the race is over. I run on the treadmill in my house but my air conditioner went out over the weekend so now it is like running in a sauna...pretty interesting.

I am supposed to get my knee brace this week, my knee has been a little sorer (I don't know if that is a word) the past few weeks, probably from all the running. I am now up to 3 miles a day. Maybe when I get the brace my knee will feel a little better and maybe just maybe I will be able to run just a little more.

Big workout tonight Zumba and Weights. Then I have to mow the yard! :(

Pretty Good Chicken

I am a big chicken and turkey eater, not much a fan of the red meat, beef, pork, lamb, I just don't really like it. I have always grilled or pan fried my chicken to keep it low fat but I have discovered a new way to make chicken and it makes it so juicy, and tender that it just falls apart with a fork.

I put two chicken breasts in a crock pot with onion, garlic, tomato, and jalapeno. I let this cook for several hours till the chicken is just falling apart. ALL ORGANIC.

So far I have used this for sandwiches, tacos, burritos, just plain chicken and with beans and greens. Just thought I would share. You may enjoy too, and it is so easy.

The Weekend

Hello all, I have tried to blog this weekend but I have been a little busy so never got around to it. I had a busy weekend, out of town and here and there, just crazy. But I did pretty good on my diet. I had a birthday party this weekend and managed to eat organic at the party. Sunday night I ate a Subway and ate a cookie so that was not perfect but I have done good so far this morning.

I got on the treadmill this morning again and put in 2 miles. Remember the Run for Ella ( is in just 2 weeks so everybody better be training hard.

I have a pretty packed afternoon, actually just to save us all some time, I have a pretty packed next two weeks so Ill stop saying that, but I am going to try to get out of the office a little early and get to the gym and get my weights in and a little more cardio.

I did want to let you all know that since I have been doing this organic thing I have lost more weight in one week, than I did the entire month of May...just saying there may be something to this.

Monday, June 8, 2009

Hello again today....I have officially joined twitter. I hope you all will follow me there as well.

Sometimes I fail at updating my blog as much as I would like to but maybe I can keep up with two things at once. We'll see!!!!

Still Going Strong

Hello all, I think I have finally kicked my Diet Coke habit, and while I was at it I gave up coffee too, just remove the unnatural caffeine. That is going pretty good and I'm not craving them like I was. Now I would still drink them if I could but I'm not going to.

The organic thing is going pretty good, but not great. I am really struggling to eat organic because there is not many places around here to buy organic, so I have bought fresh and from local markets when I can. It is just more challenging than I originally expected.

My workouts are still going good, I don't miss many days at all, most days still twice a day. I have started to actually enjoy running in the mornings. It is a good start to the day that I would have never thought I would enjoy. Even when this race is over I will continue to run in the morning.

Right now my scale is not on my side. The weight is not dropping like I would like it to be, but I am still seeing results. I had to buy a dress this weekend and it was 2 sizes smaller than the one I wore on Easter. I was SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THAT!!!!!!!

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Hello all, I know it has been a while but I have been kinda busy here so I am doing my best. I have to let you guys know some new things going on. I have a new book. I will give anything a try once I suppose. When I was reading the cover it just seemed to be describing me so I am going to give this a shot. I am not all the way through with it but I have started the program somewhat. As of today, I have gone completely organic, or the best option that was avaliable. So far I feel no different and have no results (hello, less than 18 hours) but I will let you guys know how it goes. I have high hopes.
Secondly, just to let you all know, I am still off diet sodas. I really though I would have quit this one by now but I am happy to report that I am solely drinking water and milk. (I have cheated 2 times)
And my workouts are still going good. I have been working out on my treadmill in the mornings at home so I don't have to shower at the gym. It is hotter that blue blazes in my house so its like a run and a steam all at the same time. Then still getting in my workouts at night at the gym. One thing that I have been slacking on is my weights. I have noticed that I missed a week of weight training without even noticing so tonight I will hit the weight room and try to get back into the habit. It just kinda slipped away.
That's pretty much all with me right now, I will let you know how the Organic thing works out. I FOUND ORGANIC KETCHUP SO I SHOULD BE JUST FINE!!!!!

Happy Memorial Day

I spent the entire weekend this weekend having a great time eating everything I wanted and not working out. I had a good time with it, and I am really back on track this morning. I felt like I needed some good food and that was exactly what I got, good food, good company, and no gym. It was pretty nice.

Happy Memorial Day!

The Knee Part III

I tried to get to you all yesterday but total I spent most of the day in the car and at the gym and at the ball field. It was kind of a crazy day.

My knee report was not good. Not good at all. The Dr. said that my ACL allograph didn't take and that I was pretty much functioning with no ACL. It is still in my knee and attached but it is not serving in function. I was given a few options, first we will be trying a ACL brace for stability. I have to go back and see Dr. Ortho after a month with the brace. If that doesn't work the only other options are surgery. Orthoscopic surgery is the first option but there are all these factors that go into could end up being 2 surgeries and 9 months of recovery. Needless to say that didn't make me happy but now the hope is that the brace will work fine until I can find 9 months to do nothing but sit on my butt and gain back all the weight I have lost.

I told you I would update you so there you go. It could have been worse!

Sleep and Diet Coke

I don't know if I ever told you all that I have given up Diet Coke and Diet Sundrop. I have read many studies about drinking diet drinks and being fatter than people who drank regular sugary drinks. Well I have been off Coke and Sundrop completely for just over a week. This may be the best thing for my body but I have really been paying for it. By giving up the diet coke I have also given up most of my caffeine. This has caused a headache for the last 10 days in a row. Other than that I cannot tell a real big difference. I do know that if this keeps up for much longer and I am not able to tell a difference then I will go back to drinking my multitude of Diet Coke and Diet Sundrops daily.

Also, I just have to tell you all. I am a big fan of TV and with all these stupid season finales that I think I have to watch my sleep has been struggling. Making it really hard to get up for that morning workout. But you all know in 2 months when there is nothing on TV I will be complaining about the new seasons of things starting. That's like complaining its hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Still cant do anything about it.

Finally, I have my Dr. Ortho appointment tomorrow to get the results from the MRI. I will let you guys know what they find out. I'm going to the gym tonight and in the morning just in case he says for some reason I cannot workout. I really don't think he should, its been hurting this long and I have been just fine working out on it. Ill let you know.

Run for Ella

Hey I already told you guys about this, but I want to make sure you could see all the info...

Hope you all will join us.

The Mile

I am working on my running. There is a 5k coming up soon in our home town, if you are here or close please come run with us it is for a great cause.

Anyway, I only had a few minutes to workout last night so I though I would burn as many calories as possible in the shortest amount of time. I have been running for the last few weeks and I have been flirting with a 15 minute mile. I know great right. Anyway, I have been working on getting faster and last night I knocked out 1.1 miles in 11 minutes. I was pretty excited about it. Still slow but better. Now I just have to add 2.4 miles and I will be ready to go.

Hope you all join for the run!!!

The Early Birds

I had to go workout early this morning...earlier than I ever really go. Six o'clock in the morning is not really early to some but that is a little early for the stair master and stationery bike for me. Anyway, there is like this whole subculture of people that workout that early in the morning. People that I know but had no idea that they worked out. It was amazing how many people are finished with their workout by 6 am.

I am hoping to get to the gym again tonight but I am not sure it will happen I have had a pretty busy day and it does not look like it will be getting any better any time soon.

And I had my MRI today and I don't know anything yet. It will be Tuesday before I have results.

The Knee Part II

I was hoping to update you guys on the knee but my Internet at my house is being stupid so I had to wait til I got to work. Anyway, I went to the Dr. Ortho yesterday and had him check my knee and hip out. When my hip started hurting I broke nervous so I went. My hip was just fine, he said it probably hurt from the pain in my knee. What seemed like 40 x rays later, he said I needed an MRI. He thought maybe a Meniscus problem, didn't think it was an ACL tear but said it was possible. (With all my training as an Ortho I don't think its ACL either)

MRI is tomorrow and we will know the results on Tuesday. I will let you guys know.

Dr. Ortho did say that I could continue to workout until we knew what was wrong so, yeah, that was what I was so scared about on Tuesday. I didn't want him to tell me I couldn't work out.
