Happy Memorial Day

I spent the entire weekend this weekend having a great time eating everything I wanted and not working out. I had a good time with it, and I am really back on track this morning. I felt like I needed some good food and that was exactly what I got, good food, good company, and no gym. It was pretty nice.

The Knee Part III

I tried to get to you all yesterday but total I spent most of the day in the car and at the gym and at the ball field. It was kind of a crazy day.

My knee report was not good. Not good at all. The Dr. said that my ACL allograph didn't take and that I was pretty much functioning with no ACL. It is still in my knee and attached but it is not serving in function. I was given a few options, first we will be trying a ACL brace for stability. I have to go back and see Dr. Ortho after a month with the brace. If that doesn't work the only other options are surgery. Orthoscopic surgery is the first option but there are all these factors that go into it....it could end up being 2 surgeries and 9 months of recovery. Needless to say that didn't make me happy but now the hope is that the brace will work fine until I can find 9 months to do nothing but sit on my butt and gain back all the weight I have lost.

I told you I would update you so there you go. It could have been worse!

Sleep and Diet Coke

I don't know if I ever told you all that I have given up Diet Coke and Diet Sundrop. I have read many studies about drinking diet drinks and being fatter than people who drank regular sugary drinks. Well I have been off Coke and Sundrop completely for just over a week. This may be the best thing for my body but I have really been paying for it. By giving up the diet coke I have also given up most of my caffeine. This has caused a headache for the last 10 days in a row. Other than that I cannot tell a real big difference. I do know that if this keeps up for much longer and I am not able to tell a difference then I will go back to drinking my multitude of Diet Coke and Diet Sundrops daily.

Also, I just have to tell you all. I am a big fan of TV and with all these stupid season finales that I think I have to watch my sleep has been struggling. Making it really hard to get up for that morning workout. But you all know in 2 months when there is nothing on TV I will be complaining about the new seasons of things starting. That's like complaining its hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Still cant do anything about it.

Finally, I have my Dr. Ortho appointment tomorrow to get the results from the MRI. I will let you guys know what they find out. I'm going to the gym tonight and in the morning just in case he says for some reason I cannot workout. I really don't think he should, its been hurting this long and I have been just fine working out on it. Ill let you know.

The Mile

I am working on my running. There is a 5k coming up soon in our home town, if you are here or close please come run with us it is for a great cause.

Anyway, I only had a few minutes to workout last night so I though I would burn as many calories as possible in the shortest amount of time. I have been running for the last few weeks and I have been flirting with a 15 minute mile. I know great right. Anyway, I have been working on getting faster and last night I knocked out 1.1 miles in 11 minutes. I was pretty excited about it. Still slow but better. Now I just have to add 2.4 miles and I will be ready to go.

The Early Birds

I had to go workout early this morning...earlier than I ever really go. Six o'clock in the morning is not really early to some but that is a little early for the stair master and stationery bike for me. Anyway, there is like this whole subculture of people that workout that early in the morning. People that I know but had no idea that they worked out. It was amazing how many people are finished with their workout by 6 am.

I am hoping to get to the gym again tonight but I am not sure it will happen I have had a pretty busy day and it does not look like it will be getting any better any time soon.

And I had my MRI today and I don't know anything yet. It will be Tuesday before I have results.

The Knee Part II

I was hoping to update you guys on the knee but my Internet at my house is being stupid so I had to wait til I got to work. Anyway, I went to the Dr. Ortho yesterday and had him check my knee and hip out. When my hip started hurting I broke nervous so I went. My hip was just fine, he said it probably hurt from the pain in my knee. What seemed like 40 x rays later, he said I needed an MRI. He thought maybe a Meniscus problem, didn't think it was an ACL tear but said it was possible. (With all my training as an Ortho I don't think its ACL either)

MRI is tomorrow and we will know the results on Tuesday. I will let you guys know.

Dr. Ortho did say that I could continue to workout until we knew what was wrong so, yeah, that was what I was so scared about on Tuesday. I didn't want him to tell me I couldn't work out.

Biggest Loser Finale

Well last night was the finale, and I'm sure all of you were watching. I was so proud of most of the contestants. I was really hoping Mike wouldn't make the finale because he was a little cocky for me but whatever he didn't win. Yeah. I wanted Tara to take the title but Helen did a pretty good job so I cant complain.

I did have one issue with the show this season. All the contestants were so excited about "starting their lives" and "they hadn't lived yet." In my opinion life is happening if you are fat or skinny so you might as well live it to the fullest one way or the other. You never know when it can be taken away, so why would you spend all that time in a pity party because your fat. Just live fat til you get to skinny. That was my biggest problem with this season.

I also have to give a shout out to Kristen. She was my favorite contestant and I was super proud of her. SHE LOOKED GREAT. Congrats to them all. I love this show.

The Knee

I have complained about my knee for a few weeks now...Sorry I know you are probably tired of hearing it. I am making an appointment today.

I was going to let you all know the reason I didnt post too much last week is I was trying out rest as a solution for the knee. It was unsuccessful so I'm back to two a day workouts. If it had felt better I would have probably just stuck with one really intense workout but I find it easier to get in 2 shorter intense workouts in the day. Just an update for you.

Head Shoulders Knees and Toes

Well in my case it should be head, shoulder blades, hip and knee. I have had two of the most painful workouts this week and it is only Wednesday. On Monday I had my circuit "boot camp" aerobics class and let me just tell you she let us have it. We did mountain climbers on the Bosu balls.

Then we did weights and abs on the Bosu ball as well. By the time we were done with the Bosu my ball was soaking wet. Ever time i leaned over the ball the sweat would just pour off my head and hair. It was pretty nasty. Then we had to do football drills and up downs as part of the class as well. I'm telling you it was, WOW!

Then yesterday I had Zumba at 4 and then cardio burn again at 5. I did Zumba and I am pretty sure the air conditioning was not working in the aerobics room because it felt like 700 degrees. I only did half the second class and went home to mow my yard before the rain continues again. When I got home, I was hurting my my knee and hip, and after about 3 hours I had a killer headache. I finally just went to bed...I'm all better this morning and will be back at the gym tonight.

BTW- My workout buddy told me I could wash my shoes and they would be dry by the next morning...not so much. I just hope they finish drying by this afternoon otherwise I will be wearing wet shoes.

I Havent Forgotten You All

Hello All,

I have not forgotten about my blog, I just really haven't had that much to share lately. I told you all my knee was hurting and then last weekend my hip started hurting really bad. So I have taken it pretty easy this week to see if I was just re-aggravating it by working out. Well it still hurts so I am going back to full speed working out. Other than that nothing really has happened this week.
