Race Day has Come and Gone

The run for Ella was a success, there were tons of people there to run and some there just for support, but it was great fun and for a great cause. Miss Ella was also there with her family to give out the awards. I was so happy to see how our small town has come together for this little girl.


Anyway, my goal for this run was 40 minutes but I didn't allow for such a rough terrain and so many people. I finished in 46 minutes and was really happy about that. There were places in the trail that two people could not run side by side so if you got behind walkers then you had to wait till you could pass. I was happy with my time and more happy that I finished the run. I had quite a crew that ran from my family, this picture is from the Sonic stop afterwards, we needed some liquid after such a hot run.

The Knee Part III

Well its still hurt, nothing really changed there...

I get my knee brace tomorrow, just in time too. I have 3 softball games tomorrow and then the race on Saturday! Only been trying to get it for a month now.

Whew.

PS: Its going to be pink and I am really excited about that!

Run For Ella

2 Days till the big race....Yes I understand that this is to raise money for Ella and not a great competition, but I really like to win things that I enter. So I am really excited and hope I do OK and can run the whole thing or at least most of it.

Anyway, I did an hour on the treadmill last night after Zumba and Zumba toning, just a mix of walking and running, nothing major. Just trying not to wear my legs out by Saturday, but still trying to get the miles in.

It's Me Again


I know my post have been a little sporadic lately, but my work has gotten kinda busy...that's a good thing in my industry. Anyway, I am still doing the best I can with my Organic diet and still off Diet Cokes. I have seen more results with the organic thing than just about anything else I have tried so I am going to stick with it a little bit longer. I have been running like crazy for the last few weeks and the race is almost here. I am seriously looking forward to it, and plan to keep up the running even with the race is over. I run on the treadmill in my house but my air conditioner went out over the weekend so now it is like running in a sauna...pretty interesting.


I am supposed to get my knee brace this week, my knee has been a little sorer (I don't know if that is a word) the past few weeks, probably from all the running. I am now up to 3 miles a day. Maybe when I get the brace my knee will feel a little better and maybe just maybe I will be able to run just a little more.


Big workout tonight Zumba and Weights. Then I have to mow the yard! :(

Pretty Good Chicken

I am a big chicken and turkey eater, not much a fan of the red meat, beef, pork, lamb, I just don't really like it. I have always grilled or pan fried my chicken to keep it low fat but I have discovered a new way to make chicken and it makes it so juicy, and tender that it just falls apart with a fork.

I put two chicken breasts in a crock pot with onion, garlic, tomato, and jalapeno. I let this cook for several hours till the chicken is just falling apart. ALL ORGANIC.

So far I have used this for sandwiches, tacos, burritos, just plain chicken and with beans and greens. Just thought I would share. You may enjoy too, and it is so easy.

The Weekend

Hello all, I have tried to blog this weekend but I have been a little busy so never got around to it. I had a busy weekend, out of town and here and there, just crazy. But I did pretty good on my diet. I had a birthday party this weekend and managed to eat organic at the party. Sunday night I ate a Subway and ate a cookie so that was not perfect but I have done good so far this morning.

I got on the treadmill this morning again and put in 2 miles. Remember the Run for Ella (www.runforella.com) is in just 2 weeks so everybody better be training hard.

I have a pretty packed afternoon, actually just to save us all some time, I have a pretty packed next two weeks so Ill stop saying that, but I am going to try to get out of the office a little early and get to the gym and get my weights in and a little more cardio.

I did want to let you all know that since I have been doing this organic thing I have lost more weight in one week, than I did the entire month of May...just saying there may be something to this.

Still Going Strong

Hello all, I think I have finally kicked my Diet Coke habit, and while I was at it I gave up coffee too, just remove the unnatural caffeine. That is going pretty good and I'm not craving them like I was. Now I would still drink them if I could but I'm not going to.

The organic thing is going pretty good, but not great. I am really struggling to eat organic because there is not many places around here to buy organic, so I have bought fresh and from local markets when I can. It is just more challenging than I originally expected.

My workouts are still going good, I don't miss many days at all, most days still twice a day. I have started to actually enjoy running in the mornings. It is a good start to the day that I would have never thought I would enjoy. Even when this race is over I will continue to run in the morning.

Right now my scale is not on my side. The weight is not dropping like I would like it to be, but I am still seeing results. I had to buy a dress this weekend and it was 2 sizes smaller than the one I wore on Easter. I was SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THAT!!!!!!!

Organic


Hello all, I know it has been a while but I have been kinda busy here so I am doing my best. I have to let you guys know some new things going on. I have a new book. I will give anything a try once I suppose. When I was reading the cover it just seemed to be describing me so I am going to give this a shot. I am not all the way through with it but I have started the program somewhat. As of today, I have gone completely organic, or the best option that was avaliable. So far I feel no different and have no results (hello, less than 18 hours) but I will let you guys know how it goes. I have high hopes.
Secondly, just to let you all know, I am still off diet sodas. I really though I would have quit this one by now but I am happy to report that I am solely drinking water and milk. (I have cheated 2 times)
And my workouts are still going good. I have been working out on my treadmill in the mornings at home so I don't have to shower at the gym. It is hotter that blue blazes in my house so its like a run and a steam all at the same time. Then still getting in my workouts at night at the gym. One thing that I have been slacking on is my weights. I have noticed that I missed a week of weight training without even noticing so tonight I will hit the weight room and try to get back into the habit. It just kinda slipped away.
That's pretty much all with me right now, I will let you know how the Organic thing works out. I FOUND ORGANIC KETCHUP SO I SHOULD BE JUST FINE!!!!!
