Happy Sunday

I have a few funnies for you today.  First off, I saw one of my best workout buddies today at lunch after church and for the first time ever (I think!?!) I saw her in regular clothes.  We see each other about 5 times a week if not more than that, and we are always sweaty and nasty and working out.  It was kinda different to see her in normal clothes.  I think it was the first time for her as well because she sent me a text after we saw each other.

At lunch today we celebrated a birthday...we do this about every week.  Its a big family.  I didn't really have intentions of working out today but I have a weigh in tomorrow and I really enjoyed my cupcake so I was able to squeeze in a 45 minute session before work today.  It was not much but I burned some calories and enjoyed my cupcake...that's a pretty good day I think.

Tomorrow some changes take place in my workout schedule.  I will officially begin my 20 week marathon training plan.  I have been preparing for this for about 2 months now.  I have been trying to build up my stamina and my mileage.  I have done lots of research and found a plan I think will work best for me.  If for some reason I cannot do this one I will move on to another.  I am really hoping to be able to do this in December.  The harder I work for it the more committed I become.  I think I cannot completely commit to it yet because I don't know how my body is going to respond to so many miles.  I will train for it like I'm going to do it, and I will let you know when my mind if finally made up.  Just the thought of 26.2 scares the holy bejeezes out of me.  Who knows???

Tomorrow we also start the 5:30 workouts.  I do not love early mornings but I am coming around to the idea.  For one, we have a nice little group that is getting together to do these steps and I love to see these people getting out there and being active.  Also, selfishly, I know my workouts are going to be longer because the distance will be growing so I will have to wake up earlier to fit it all in the day. 

I am posting all this from work today so I cannot post my pictures, but I have a funny one or two for you.  I will try to get back on tonight and put them up.

Don't forget to check back tomorrow, we have weigh in day!!!!!!  I am so ready for this...I love seeing the progress.  Keep it up guys, one more week, lets make it the best one yet!

I am spending my afternoon reading my Runner's World from cover to cover and searching for 5K races....I saw an ad for the Women's Half Marathon Series...there's a race in Nashville on September 25...I've never in my life done more than a 5K, but these medals are so it possible?

well, i'm hoping to get back in shape to run a marathon in december. but will have to see what happens with the foot. want to go to the doctor but currently have no insurance so....

I am a firm believer that our bodies can do so much more than we ever give them credit for. If you decide to run a half you just let me know. I will run and train with you. It was one of the greatest feelings of my life to cross that finish line. You can do ANYTHING!!!!! And if it makes you feel any better I did it all for a sticker on the back of my car.
