Finally, after an entire week of no running I got me feet on the pavement....and it was wonderful! This morning was a 6 mile run 2 on steps, 1 in speed training and 3 on the road. It was broken up nicely and made it very enjoyable. I was nervous that I was going to struggle after not running for a week, but amazingly it was one of the best runs I have had in a while. I am now really jazzed up about running again.
This week after some finagling with schedules I am doing my long run on Wednesday, just a little bit later than normal. This week we only have to run 17.8 miles. This is the week for the 18 mile run but for some reason 18 miles has just stuck out in my brain on this training schedule, its right between 16 and 20 mile training runs with big blinking neon lights. I don't know why, but it is scarier than the 20 miler and the whopping 26.2 that will be the finish of all this running. Well, it just so happens that we ran 6.2 today and we cannot end the week on an odd number so I only have to run 17.8. Ha Ha I found a way around the 18 mile run!
I am still feeling all the endorphins from this mornings run and have just been in a peppy good mood all day. Its an amazing thing really. I have had a long hard day and would normally be just whipped by now but I am still going strong. I think its partly the good run and partly the good food I have been eating. I admit that I struggled over the Halloween weekend with little pieces of candy and party stuff, but I tried really hard to eat like I should on the days that I knew I would be getting candy or junk type things. Maybe I'm just happy that there is no more little bite size pieces of heaven sitting all around me all the time.
I'm excited for the weigh in this week. I really feel like with the workouts that I have done at the end of last week and the beginning of this week and the quality of food that I have been eating that I should have a loss this week. Only 3 pound to go to a HUGE milestone! Wish me luck!
