Dr. Visit...Could Be Better Could Be Worse

Well early this morning I got up and finally got in to see the doc.  I just wanted to know what was up with this hip pain.

I woke up with very little pain.  Lying flat on my back is the only thing that makes me feel better.  By the time I got to the doc I was hurting pretty bad.  And I have never been so excited that I shaved my legs.  I had to drop my pants to x ray and then the examination.  Just so you know that is not an easy joint to examine!  I showed him what hurt, what didn't, and on and on and on.

Well, basically he doesn't know without process of elimination.  For one week I have to treat all the various -itises, bursitis, arthritis, tendinitis, etc.  I am on a dose pack and if the pain is gone in a week, yeah, if not we go back for an MRI to look for a stress fracture or anything that wouldn't show up on an xray.  I am hoping for the best and maybe this will work, but I would like to know why it hurts.  I am tired of hurting!!!

The rest of my day has been pretty uneventful.  Work work work.  I missed my morning run to go to the doc so I am getting ready for my night workout.  I am still sitting out of Zumba because I am afraid the jumping might be a little too much.  I think tonight we will box and do some football drills...those are almost as fun as boxing.

I'm kinda going crazy cause I need to do something physical, I feel like this has been a lazy lazy day!

Wish me luck with the hip...you know I will let you know if it keeps hurting.

I stumbled across your post on accident and just wanted to share some info with you. My husband (23yeard old) has been suffering from hip pain for a while too. We went through the whole process of trying to figure it out: reg doc, pain meds, steroids (rx), x rays, MRI, podiatrist, physical therapy, then finally after not much relief he was refered to an orthopedic surgeon. The final diagnosis? Sacroiliac joint pain! And wouldn't you believe the only cure for this alignment is proper and constant physical therapy. So he was referred to a different therapist who had more knowledge of this condition and I am glad to say that after about a year of trying to figure out what was wrong with him he is finally feeling some relief. Maybe you might have the same thing. I would talk to your doc about it an see what he thinks. Good luck!!
