Sticker Sensation

Ok, we all know I have a small problem with putting stickers on my car. Well now it has been taken to a whole new level. Let's go back.

Yesterday I had 2 ballgames starting at the same time to get to. I stayed late at game 1 and then drove to game 2 and got to it about half time. But on my drive there apparently there was a beacon of light (headlights maybe?) drawing the bugs to my car. I didn't realize it was happening at the time. By the time I got home last night it was late and I couldn't see my front bumper.

So this morning I got to get up and run....WOO HOO!!!! This is the first time I have gotten to run all week long. I had to squeeze in the run between sleep and a hair appointment and I also wanted to eat breakfast with my running buddy, so we ran a few, ate breakfast, and then ran back to the gym. I got back just in time to get to my hair appointment.

So got my hairs cut, a much needed cut I might add, and then off to another appointment. I was booked all day long, back to back, basically all my appointments overlapped by about 5 minutes but luckily my 10:00am appt went quick and I had an extra 20 minutes and at this point I was well aware of the bug situation on the front bumper of my car. So I headed to the car wash.

When I pulled into the car wash I walked around the car and much to my surprise there are 2 new stickers on the back of my car. Now not only do I have a problem with the stickers but other people are now sticking them to my car. I think I know who the culprit is but I have not proven it yet.

Thank goodness they are magnets and not stickers.  I would have been really upset if someone had stuck stickers to my car.

I have had another busy week this week but nothing like last week. I have run so crazy this week that about ever day I have to stop and put gas in my car but I don't have enough time to fill it up so I have gotten $20 here and $15 there. But this week is the last week of Volleyball and Middle School Football so maybe things will slow down a bit. I say that now but once they slow down I get bored and will be chomping at the bit for a new sport of event to support.

Next week is shaping up to be a more relaxed week and I cannot wait. I'm really excited about a little bit of time off.

Oh oh oh, and on Wednesday night I got to watch Biggest Loser. I have seen both episodes so far but I haven't gotten to watch either of them when they came on. This week it was well past mid-night when I finally tuned in. I watched the show as I folded 2 weeks worth of laundry. Who knew all that time I was wasting between 10pm and 5am sleeping could be so productive??

I am already liking this season of Biggest Loser. I like that it is not couples. They have done too many of those in a row. And I like the breakdown of ages. They have done the men and women and teams but this is a cool new twist. I'm still trying to pick a favorite....as of right now I think Vinny is my guy and the girl I just don't know yet. Becky moved to a high spot in my book on week one but I don't think she is my pick for the girl just yet. (I know when my mom died the last thing I wanted to do was workout, I just wanted to lay down in my bed and sleep. The fact that she got right back into the game was impressive.) The old team is getting picked off one by one right now so they may not be in the game much longer. I am hoping this week I will get to watch it when it comes on but I have it recording just in case I miss it.

I will be out of commission next week for the beginning of the week but hope to post at some point. It may be Thursday before I get back on here.

Update:  Well she admitted it.  I now know that at some point this morning, my running buddy stuck them to my car.  I don't really know how she did it, we were together the whole time!  She said they were on there when we finished our run and I never saw it.

Some Things Must Be Addressed

I have rules, maybe they are just my rules, but I think everyone in the whole wide world should follow.  I have posted on rules at the gym, rules for clothing, and I have even created a dictionary for girls out there so they know what I am talking about. I'm sure there are more out there but now I must address one more thing....Race Day Attire!!!!!

If you look like this...

then you can stop reading this post right now.  If you look like this then you can officially wear whatever the hell you want to on race day.  Since that is less than 1% of women the rest of you may want to stay here for just a few more minutes.

Rules:

1.  Wear something that is comfortable.  That is first and foremost.  If you are not comfortable then you can go ahead and assume that you will not run your best.

2.  Spandex:  This topic really has its own post but I will try to sum it up right here.  Spandex is a wonderful thing.  I know I am a lover of all things spandex.  I wear it for long runs and races, I have shorts for under baggier pants, and capris to wear alone.  Spandex comes in 6 different sizes!  XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL.  Please note that if you wear a XL in shorts that is probably the same size you wear in spandex.  If you think that by buying a size smaller that it will hold things tighter you would be right, but even spandex has a stretching limit and it will eventually stretch far enough to make the material thread bare and I will be able to see your butt crack.  Not to mention the muffin top that will come over the top of the waist band.  I am guilty of this one and I have the finish photos to prove it.  I am not proud of it.  But I have learned from my own mistakes, and now I plead, please please please buy pants that fit!!!

3.  Tops:  Now if you choose spandex pants for race day, congrats, you will not have chaffed thighs when the race is over.  It will make you a happy race finisher.  Now, lets talk about the top to go with those tight pants.

This is the picture that helped me very much with race day wear.  Notice the pants fit but I decided to wear a tight shirt with the tight pants.  Not so cute for a plus size girl.  Not at all!  Notice the muffin top around the waist band.  I learned, wear a shirt that is long enough to cover the belly and the ass.  That way the rest of the race will not be making fun of you, or trying to take your picture throughout the race.

This was one of the greatest days of my life so I can look past the unfortunate outfit choice but I can also learn from it.

4.  Shorts:  Another option for bottoms on race day.  Some people like those tempo shorts that are shorter on the sides and longer in the middle.  They help with "The Creep" but some of us larger girls are not completely comfortable in the shorter shorts.  I wear a pair made by Moving Comfort that are the perfect length.  Tighter across the tush and high enough in the inseam to keep the thighs from rubbing together.  There is nothing wrong with long shorts (especially if you suffer from Thighitis...read the dictionary), you can put the small spandex shorts underneath or a little body glide to keep the chaffing problem under control.

4.  BRA:  The bra is an undergarment, which means, a garment that is made to be worn "UNDER" clothes!!!!!!!!  I beg, if you don't have the body above will you please wear a shirt over your bra!!!!

And for all things that are good and holy, if you must wear only a bra and you cannot stand the shirt or tank top over it, please wear a sports bra!  My sister actually saw a woman in a regular bra at the race this weekend.  That is NOT ok!

That is all that I can think of at the moment, please know that I am liable to change and update these at anytime so you may want to check back from time to time.  I usually update these, dictionary, and rules after a race or a new "Party Foul" has been committed.

Race day!

This weekend was full beyond words...not as hectic as last weekend, not even close but still a busy weekend.  On Friday night it was homecoming at the local school that my babies attend.  I had the entire day off of work, but you know I had to go into the office at least once.  It has been a while since I had the whole day off of all my jobs.

We started hair and makeup for my little homecoming queen about 2:30pm and the rest of the weekend is just a blur.  She looked just beautiful for her special night and I am so glad I didn't have to work so I got to see the entire game and the half time homecoming court.

It was a late night but finally I got home and into bed.  It was later than I like to go to bed especially since I had a race the next day, and not a small race, a half marathon.  I was so worried about not getting my bag packed or forgetting something that it took forever to get into bed.  So up at 4:00am and on the road.  My precious sister drove me up there in the horrible fog and at the most horrendous hour.  We made it in time for the race.

This was the Women's Half Marathon and my nieces birthday present.  Lots of women, lots of pink, and the fact that I only got about 4 hours of sleep made that a little bit annoying.  It was kinda cool being in Nashville, there were bands playing along the race course and lots of supporters out on the trail.

Please note the names on the bib and the number below.  The names were on everything.

The race started off pretty good.  I was not trained for this one like I should have been, ok, I was not trained at all for this distance.  I have been running 3 days a week but nothing near this distance.  But I had a plan, 3:1 for the race or until I got tired, the 2:1 then 1:1 if I needed too.  I started off way to fast, but soon found my groove.  I was keeping a pretty good time for the first 6 miles or so.  About mile 7 the bottom of my foot started to hurt pretty bad.  I kept going but was having to walk more.  About mile 9 it was really really hurting.  I had to stop and loosen my shoe strings hoping that would help.  It did not!

At mile 11 I was not sure how much more I could take.  I finally got to a downhill and could not stand to run on the foot at all.  2 more miles that is all I had to make it.  It was two more brutal uphills and 2 more downhills that I could not take advantage of.  I was getting frustrated!  I had more miles in my legs to run but my foot just could not take the impact.  So I walked.

There were lots of supporters along the run.  There was an entire water station set up that was a toga party!!!!  Cute boys with sheets on for clothes, that will give any girl a good smile around mile 6!

I wish you could see them better....good looking boys!

Since my foot was hurting I was able to notice a lot more of the route than normal.  I cant wait to see the photos from this race because every time I saw a camera guy I gave him a fun little face or dance move to capture!!!!

Coming into the finish line I was a little disappointed but also pretty happy that I had finished with the amount of training that I had.  I have a blister on the bottom of my foot but the soreness was really only bad for a day.  I am ready to start running again.

Finishers!!!!

Oh let's try that again!

Finishers!!!!

Another race, another finish, another medal for the collection.  All in all a good time!

Once I got home it was time for a much needed NAP!  Everyone that made the trip to Nashville went home and took a nap.  We got together for dinner that night and them my little race partner and I had a late night trip to the hot tub.  I think that may have helped with the soreness a little bit LOT!!  But don't worry, even after a 2 hour nap Saturday night was like Coma sleep.

I think I have finally recovered from the lack of sleep and soreness all together.  And what was still lingering is gone now.  This morning I got a pedicure.  Cured up the blisters and everything.

Just keeping up the pink theme now!!!!

Now I must run because it is very much time for bed again.  Hope you all had a great weekend!

I love the show toddlers in tiaras especially when the moms say stuff like "we finally won a supreme title". Well...we didn't win your child did, but just for fun look at this.

"WE" finally won a crown!!!!

And she shared it with her aunt!!!

The beautiful homecoming queen!

Getting to It

I have spent the last two days with tight lips because I just knew someone would ruin it for me.  I don't know if you all know it but Biggest Loser started this week on Tuesday!!!!!!  I was not able to watch it when it came on so now I am finally getting to it.  And I'm getting fired up already! I don't have favorites yet but they are slowing growing on me.  I just wanna go back to the gym!!!!

So, my day today was much more low key than the start of my week.  It was just what I needed.  I worked all day but it was low stress, just business.  I wasn't sure when I was going to workout but the opportunity fell into my lap.  I got to teach the water aerobics class tonight.  I got in a good solid hour of cardio and strength.  I enjoy water aerobics and think if you push yourself then you can get a quality workout.

As of right now tomorrow is shaping up to be another chill day, still working hard, but hopefully keep up the lower stress.

I have to get back to my show now, I am just dying to get back to the gym now!!!!!

Taking Exhausted and STRESSED to a Whole New Level

I'm going to tell you all about my weekend and I swear you will think I am making this up, but I not that talented as a writer to make this crap up....  Here goes!

On Saturday I was feeling pretty dog gone good.  My neck/back pain seemed to be under control, I got a good nights sleep, even though I fell asleep while doing laundry and got my house cleaned up nice a pretty because the week before had left the house in a mess...I even got a nap!  That night was the final night of the fair and I wanted to go to the concert and watch Colt Ford and enjoy my footlong corndog.  The concert was way better than I expected and the night was wonderful.  I had worked every day last week until 10pm so I was ready for a night off.

So I got home and in bed a little bit after midnight/1am but it didn't matter because I always take a Sunday nap.  Who cares if I have to be at church early cause I will be napping pretty in a couple of hours!  So I made it to church on time (ok I was a little late but that is the slightest of the issues.)  After church my entire family went out to eat lunch together like always.  Right as we started eating lunch my Bro-In-Law had a seizure in the restaurant.  It was quite possibly the scariest thing I have ever seen in my entire life!!!!!  As I sit here and try to talk about it I am at an absolute loss for words.  You could tell something was horribly wrong and I had no idea what to do, as well as everyone else in the restaurant.  Thank the Lord there were some medical people having lunch that I know saved his life.

This is where I have to find humor and I hope you can understand this and not think I am insensitive...

My sister accompanied her husband to the hospital and I loaded up the mini van

(I had to turn in my cool card to get the keys)

with her 3 children and 2 foster kids and took them home.  I knew in the back of my mind that this was going to be a long process and I immediately was regretting the outfit I had chosen for church.  I wore a pair of pants that were too tight but they would work for 2 hours and a sweater.  I had done that wonderful Saturday clean up so there were no clothes in my car to change into and I didn't have my car anyway so it didn't matter!  I went from a single white female to a single mom of 5 in a matter of seconds.

Thank goodness the children were well behaved.  They were as scared as I was and they were children with thousand of questions that I wanted to answer but I had no answers to give.  They were so helpful and without that help I don't know how I could have survived the night without them, and the support of the other sisters telling me what to do.  I did almost let the little two starve because they didn't eat any food at lunch but that never crossed my mind and then when it was time to feel the 8 month old I didn't know how to make the cereal, and when I did I had to mix formula but there were no clean bottles, etc.  (And a 2 year old and Spaghetti-o's, not the best decision ever)  My somewhat mom instincts kicked in, we laid out our clothes for school, pack up lunches, got laundry done so everyone could be dressed for school.  I began to appreciate what my sisters do every day and it was only 8pm.  The foster children are not allowed to stay the night with me because I dont have state approval because I am not a foster parent so once we got around to bedtime I had 3 kids that were all potty trained and able to walk, talk and dress by themselves, whew!!!!!!

I finally got the kids in bed, got the laundry folded and lunches packed for the next day and it was off to dreamland, ha, I was wrong!  My sister has creatures that live in the house so every single time the cat walked across the room I thought one of the kids was awake.  Then one time the cat touched me and I shot off the couch like a rocket.  I finally just sacrificed the sleep and got up to get ready for school.  Again the kids were great, they didn't fight me waking up and they all got going pretty quick so we were early for school, with breakfast and clean clothes.  I was so scared I was going to forget something so I packed my phone number in every one's lunch box in case they needed me.

By the time I got to Sonic I realized that I owed my sisters a huge apology.  I had to apologize for making fun of them for coming to school with cheerios in their hair, or for being unshowered and unshaved with no makeup.  All of a sudden I understood all of these things because I hadn't showered or slept in 2 days, my pants were too tight and I had a child's clip in my dirty hair because I couldn't find one single bobby pin anywhere.  (I was seriously considering having my tubes tied!!!!!)

So I thought my day was going to calm down a bit but it just took off after that.  I did manage 4 minutes to go to the gym and wash my hair in the sink, still no shower, and then off to work.  And I worked like a dog! Oh and still sporting the mini-van and the child's hair clip.  I should just go ahead and apologize to all the mothers out there because I have made fun of all of you when I see you strolling around in the mini with bed head!  I finally got to job #2 and got to sit down.  It was a nice break, it was Monday so it was busy, seems like everyone in the town was starting their diet and weight loss plan on THIS Monday but it was still way more relaxing that being the Temp Mom so I will not whine about it.

10pm: Quitting time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I was not going to workout, I was going home to shower, stress of the day gone, time to shower and sleep!  I was ready to go home.  And on my way home, about half way there I hit a deer!  2 deer jumped out of my car.  Thank the good Lord, yet again, I just nicked him on my front bumper, I was not hurt, my car was not damaged!  I called my dad and went over to his house after I hit the deer to make sure my car was ok.  Sympathetic moment of the day:  His first question was "Was it a buck or a doe?"  After we assessed the damage I had to go to my sisters house because I didn't get the sympathy I needed from Dad. (Remember I am the 4th child so I have lots of people I can go to until I get what I need and yes, the youngest is spoiled so when I showed up at 11pm in need of sympathy that is what I got)  I walked in on her giving the riot act to a child and when I told her what happened I got the response I needed "Do you need to cry?"  Don't worry guys I held back the tears but I just couldn't believe it!!!!

I finally got calmed down and got home and as tired  as I was I couldn't sleep, every time I closed my eyes I saw a deer in front of my head lights or my bro-in-law seizing.  It was just bad dreams all night long.  I fought it as long as I could at at 5am I got a charlie horse in my calf and finally just gave up! hahahaha  I am honest to goodness laughing out loud at this moment.

I got up and ran with my running buddy.  We got in 4 miles this morning, a good breakfast, and a therapy session.  After running I came back to my house and tried to get it back in order, you know, finish the laundry I started on Friday night.  I even attempted to sleep one more time, don't worry, I was unsuccessful yet again.  Job #1 here I come.  Another busy day which is well welcomed in the RE world.  I met up with my swimming buddy after work and before an evening showing.  We haven't gotten to swim in a while and she did so good tonight.  The day was getting better and better.  I got to the store to buy toilet paper, oh yeah, I left that out, ran OUT of toilet paper and got all geared up for my evening showing.

I had a great showing on a property that I have had on the market too long so it was nice to have some traffic.  I ran from one end of the town to the other 5 times over and finally got to a football game.  Then to job #94938 and cleaned an office building, back to job #1 to file some paperwork, over to Sister 2's house to give her some paper work for the Half Marathon this weekend, then over to Sister 3 house, and on and on and on.  This day ended up being an amazing day!  Note the time stamp on this post, 12:37am my time and this is the first time my personal computer has been on in 4 days.

My bro in law got to come home from the hospital on Monday night and he is doing well.  I don't think it is my business to tell all of his business so I will leave it at that.  Just keep that whole situation in your prayers, he will be on restricted duty for a while and that is just not how we roll.

Thanks for listening to my rant for a while, I know this is a long post but I had a pretty full weekend.  I am hoping tomorrow will be just a little more back to my normal schedule.   I do hope you dont think I am being insensitive or selfish about the weekend or the medical emergency but humor is where I go and I hope you can appreciate that.

Fun Little Things

When I got to Job #2 today I had a little happy waiting for me on my desk!

Come on, that is FUNNY!!!!

Let's Get Caught Up!!!!!

My goodness gracious.  What a crazy week.  I know a busy week for me is a good thing and this week has topped the cake as far as busy goes but its been a good one too.

I have not been able to workout hardly at all this week.  I ran on Monday, twice actually, but all week long my neck and back pain was so bad that I could hardly move much less run or workout.  I was pretty sure that my neck pain was never going to get better, my neck, chest, back and arm were hurting and the night before my doctors appointment I got so torn up that I was having a heart attack that I could not get settled down.  I was up most of the night and I finally got out of bed and got ready for my appt.  I was not having a heart attack and I officially have sympathy for people who talk about having a panic attack and go to the ER cause they think they are having a heart attack.

My doc appointment went fine.  The doc was not my favorite person in the world, I really thought we were going to fight at one point but he did give me some relief.  I will not be going back to him.  He said I was all tied up in a knot, could be stress, who knows, but he basically gave me an adjustment and muscle relaxers and I feel like a whole new person.  I am not allowed to do anything strenuous for 3 days and I will gladly take 3 more days off it will make this pain go away forever.  I think I am going to start going to the chiro more frequently so I don't run into this problem ever again.

My other small victory for the week that I must share.  It is fair week in my town which means lots of very bad for you food and I have done great.  Ok, I cant really take all the credit for it because I have worked every night this week until 10 o'clock so there was not a lot of fair time but I have done lunch there a few days and not once have I overdone it.  The only real fair food that I want to eat is a Footlong fresh made corn dog and I might indulge in that when I go tomorrow night.

As of  Monday if all goes to plan I will be able to run again and be in no pain.

I Finally Got To RUN!!!!!!!

After last week with days and days of rain I thought I would never get to run again.  Friday, we ran about 3-4 miles, I cant remember at this point and it turns out the rest was really worth it.  My knee had started to hurt the week before so the few days of rest made it quite a nice run.

Then this weekend I had to work so I missed out yet again on a Saturday run.  I complained  at the time but now I have a few weekends off in a row!!!!!  Totally not the point, sorry!  Then on Saturday night I did a little bit of shopping.  I am in desperate need of clothing.  I got a shirt and a cardigan....that is really not even putting a dent in the clothing situation but its better than nothing.

So this morning it was back to my normal running schedule.  We got to meet a little bit later than normal because the heat finally broke and it is a reasonable temperature outside.  Yippee!  I finally get to wake up when the first number is a 6 and not a 5.  That alone makes my day exponentially better.  This morning we did 3.5 in the morning and then this afternoon we did another 2 with the NoBo group.  I am so proud of these guys, we missed last week and this week was a big jump from what we had done two weeks ago but they were able to keep up and not quit.  I know they were tired when we were done but they did it.

Now I have a new and very annoying injury.  What I originally diagnosed as a brain tumor (WebMD needs to be taken off the web) I think is a pinched nerve.  It is incredibly annoying.  It is not really pain, not most of the time anyway but it is a constant dull ache...and it causes my hand and arm to fall asleep at any given time.  I have spent the last week walking around with my arm above my head like I need to ask a question.  I am hopefully going to get into the doc tomorrow to get the whole brain tumor thing ruled out and get some answers because this is slowly driving me CRAZY!

Now I am begging for a good nights sleep...I'm hoping that knowing I might get to see the doc that I might get enough peace of mind to get some rest, that and the fact that I am going to take enough pain meds before bed tonight to tranquilize a horse.  Here's hoping!

Hope you all have a good night and good workouts tomorrow!

What Day of the Week Is It????

Talk about being lost in time.  I cannot figure out what day of the week it is.  I have spent all week thinking it is Tuesday.  Being off on Monday was nice but then my work schedule has just been backwards all week long.  And to top it all off I have not gotten to run all week!!!!    I am just soooo backwards this week!

However, I have gotten in some quality workouts and some quality hot tub time.  I also have eaten so much better this week....I think my pants are a little bit bigger already!  Could that be possible.  Being that my fat jeans were too tight that is really not that much of an accomplishment but I take them where I can get them.

Tomorrow morning I will run.  I don't care rain or shine, pain or not, I will be running somewhere.  My running buddy this morning was being a very bad influence.  She wanted to run too and she told me to call in sick from work so I could just trot out and run with her!!  Can you believe that?  Call in sick.  I must say I was tempted to take the offer but I am just not that kind of girl to call in sick (sick or not) and it turned out to be pretty good because I have been crazy busy today!

I must run and get back to work, I love a busy day!

Happy Tuesday, That Feels Like Monday

I hope you all had a marvelous holiday weekend.  I know I enjoyed my extra day off but if you are in my neck of the woods you are probably tired of the rain.  We have needed rain for the last few weeks, I know cause my yard is brown...and I don't care about rain but it is much needed, but now two days later and 2 runs cancelled I am ready for the rain to be gone so that I can get out on the road and do something.

I actually didn't get to workout at all today.  I was jammed packed today from sunup to sundown.  My first stop this morning was at my office.  And this was the beautiful site that I walked into.

This is the job that I can still post pictures from (some people were not able to understand the humor from my pictures that I took off duty so no more pictures from Job #2)  Note, numerous coolers and garbage cans catching the water, and there are more that are not in this picture.

There is no telling how long it leaked and the fact that no one was there over the weekend made it that much worse when we got there this morning.  Basically the conditions inside the office were the same as outside.  64 degrees and raining!!!!!

I took the opportunity to work outside the office.  I ran errands and picked up some signs to put up.

Then because it was Monday Tuesday it was game day.  Our football was cancelled which made me a very happy girl because I didn't have to miss any game tonight so it was off to volleyball tonight.  Ahhhh an indoor sport.  But it was an hour away so I am just now getting home from ballgames.  This week I think I am going to finally get caught up on my volleyball.  I missed the first 2 weeks of the season because of work and other engagements and I don't like to miss ballgames, I want to be at every single one!!!!!

Tomorrow morning I am getting up early, run or not, I have to get a workout in somewhere.  After my confession last week that my diet has been horrible it has been better, still not perfect but I have been making much better decisions, grilled chicken instead of fried and I have been replacing some meals with protein shakes to cut down on calories and keep up my protein.  Its getting better slowly but very much surely!!!!

Dont worry I sure I will have to get on here in the morning and let you know how my workout goes.  The weather has cooled off so much that running is going to be amazing.   I am dying to get in a workout at this point!
