Happy 5th of July

Everybody was so adamant on wishing you happy 4th and I strive to do nothing like everyone else, so happy 5th everyone.  But since I didn't get on her and blog yesterday Ill tell you all about my 4th.

For starters, I slept in.  Ahhhhhh  I do love to sleep in.  Its amazing how when you get older sleeping in takes on such a different meaning.  When I was 9am I woke up at 8 to watch cartoons, at 15 I slept til 11am and could have slept all day, now I wake up at 7am and its like I have slept all day long, so imagine my surprise when I woke up at 9am.  I was so excited.

I had some errands to run before I could do anything, and I had a bribe to get together before I hijacked my sisters swimming pool.  There is one thing (I followed the rules, no make up, bathing suit on) that will get me in every time....

Hi, my name is Emily and I will give you all the pre-cut fruit and fruit dip if you will let me swim in your pool for the next 4 hours....

Then when they attack the fruit bowl which they will very quickly (be very careful here they will hurt you to get to it)......

Once they get hunkered down in the fruit you run around them and go get in the pool before anyone can stop you!

Works EVERY time!

So I spent some quality time in the swimming pool yesterday.  I needed it too.  I went to bed on Tuesday night feeling fine, not sore, nothing, then I woke up on Wednesday morning and every single thing hurt.  Apparently, 90 sit-ups and 30 burpees will do that for you.  Not to mention I ran the stadium so my calves are screaming.

I had a good time doing nothing yesterday.  Sleeping in, swimming, no sunburn, stung by something that hurts like hell, fruit bowl and early bed time.  Now I have to experience Monday again but the best part of two Mondays in a week is you also get two Fridays!

I hope you all had a happy 4th and I hope your 5th is equally as nice.

Oh and by the way...if you don't have this little kitchen utensil you need to get one.  It is the most handy I have every had.  Once you cut up a watermelon there is lots to pick up and if you are like me you don't want sticky hands.  This thing picks it up all at one time and keeps your hands from getting sticky!  A-M-A zing!

I'm sure it works for other foods but I'm not a huge cook so I mostly use it for fruit!

Raechel Ray uses that tool all the time when she cuts up onions and misc. veggies. I think I need to get one too!
