I waited all day with my phone by my side hoping to hear from my doc. I waited as long as I could and I finally gave in and called. My CAT scan (which comes with side effects of itching!!!!!) came back fine so we are treating this as a muscular skeletal problem, again with the rib, condritis, torn muscle, etc. So she gave me a scrip for another Anti-Inflammatory, this one stronger than the one before. And I have to modify my workouts just a touch, she didn't take working out away, thank you Dr. Doc!
The modification goes something like this.....
I don't have to wear a sling but I am supposed to treat my left arm as if it was immobilized. No upper body weights, no running because it is too jarring on the body (although she said I could a little bit as long as it didn't hurt), and no excessive twisting. She suggested the elliptical machine with my hands on the stationary thing and not the moving arm bars. So that's exactly what I did tonight. I rocked that elliptical like it did something wrong. 1 hour 5 minutes, 4.45 miles, 906.7 calories (estimated.) Then I did some really focused leg weights and a little stationery bike as a cool down. It was a great workout and I was feeling pretty good.
After having to look at the mirror the whole workout I realized that my workout clothes are really beginning to struggle. I have gone to wearing t-shirts because the cut off tees are really starting to look bad and my tight pants today looked awful. I need new workout clothes!!!! It just hard to spend money on clothes that are going to get nasty every single day, especially when I could use some real clothes.
This pair actually have paint stains.
Anyway, I got home and started my daily chores. Pack the workout bag for tomorrow, pack the lunch for tomorrow, wash clothes and take some quality time to lay on the bed. That's the best part. I even iced the "Area" like the doc said....
Its not easy to get a pic of this, ok!
Day 1-3 were the hard days, day 4-6 were the days that I craved foods that I knew I couldn't have just out of habit, and now I am really not craving anything too bad. I found some good sweet snacks that don't count towards my carb total, Jello and Pudding (I actually had to go to my sisters house tonight and borrow a cup of milk), and I don't crave them as much anymore which helps.
I am still a big fan of the diet but I have a lot longer to go for Phase 1 so Ill keep you updated on it. Today is the first day that I feel like I have lost some weight, I feel a little skinnier so I really don't want to stop. I'm FIGHTING through!!!!
I'm having a light dinner again tonight so that I can get some quality sleep and not have to fight an upset stomach all night long. My jello is really hitting the spot....
Once I get all my stuff done around the house I will be in bed early! I love early bed time!
