Up and Down and Up

Ups and Downs this morning. For starters I had an amazing workout this morning. I tried to push it a little bit in Body Pump and up my weight a little bit. I didn’t up it too much but put 1-2.5 pounds more on each side of the bar this morning. I was truly exhausted and my muscles were fatigued to the max. The class did exactly what it was intended to do. After class I really didn’t want to do a marathon session on the elliptical machine or treadmill but I still wanted to burn some more calories. I started with a short Tabata workout with Burpees, Jump Rope, Kettlebell Swings, and ????? (I can’t remember what the final workout was, my mind is tired too apparently!)

After the Tabata I did 30 minutes on the elliptical machine and then it was back to the open area of the gym using only my body weight and and not much else. It was time to try a Biggest Loser Workout: 52 Card Pick-Up. Oh my gosh! It goes like this, each suit represents a workout, the number on the card represents the number of reps per round.

Hearts: Crunches
Diamonds: Pushups
Clubs: Squats
Spades: Burpees on a Bosu Ball

2=2, 3=3…JQK=10, and A=15

That’s a total of 99 of each exercise! Wow!!!!! And it hurts!!!!!

I had 30 minutes to get done so that I could steam and shower before work. I went as hard as I could and got it done in 25 minutes! I was really proud of this, I was dying when it was over and had sweat pouring from head to toe.

It was a Burpee heavy workout today so I’m pretty sure I need this shirt now!!!!

I still don’t like them but I sure can do them!

The down side to my morning was weigh day. I really thought I was going to have a huge number this week and it was pathetic. It was down but not down enough! So yes, I am mad that I lost weight cause it wasn’t enough. The one thing I can say is this: A few years ago I would have stewed over a bad loss or beat myself up over it but I can honestly say that I have worked my butt off this week and I couldn’t have done much more. And I am starting to see some results, my pants are bigger, my stamina is getting lots better so I am happy about that, still pissed about a sucky loss but happy that my pants don’t fit! REALLY THIS IS ME LETTING IT GO!

Now today there was no lunchtime workout, instead there was Mexican fiesta for lunch! And it was good. Oh and by the way I didn’t eat an entire box of girl scout cookies, if you will notice in the picture from yesterday the box of cookies is under my shirt. I had someone ask me about that.

Tonight I finished up my workout day by doing a 30 minute run around the neighborhood. Again, it was a run with no watch and no distance meter so I don't know how far I went. Its really liberating to just run without all the bells and whistles. Don't get me wrong I love all my technology but sometimes it feels good to just run.

I got all my cupcakes decorated and my food prepped up for tomorrow (healthy Mexican fiesta again) and I am finally in bed.
